Why does work start at 9:00 AM on the Eastern time but starts at 8:00AM on the Central Time Zone but still ends at 5:00PM in both time zones? I have always been confused about Dolly Parton and 9 to 5. Regular work hours are 8 to 5 right?

I am pretty sure the Eastern and Western time zone states owe us Central time zones folks $15 an hour calculated out to about 90 years of labor. They have been working 1 less hour a day than us for way to damn long.

I don't know about east to west, but the folks I know that work up north claim the workday for office workers typically starts early. Like really damn early. Some of them claim they get into their office (engineering jobs, etc.) like 6:00 in the morning. Just a couple data points there, maybe others can tell me if I'm on target. Only thing I'm getting up early enough for to be actually performing at 6:00 is to kill a deer. I'm just not wired to get up early enough to be actually performing well at 6:00 am.

I've never known anyone that started work at 9 in the eastern zone I was raised in. By 9 lunch was on the mind.

Starting by 6-7:00 at the latest was all I could get away with. Grandpaw left for his job by 5:00 grandmom by 7:00 and I had the farm to tend to. Didn't dare let them get home and me not be done with what they expected. Turned 16 got a job in town and still took care of the farm. Lol

I just think the Central time zone should demand reparations from the Eastern time zone for having to work an extra hour every day.
