Congrats. I went this morning and only heard a few across a clearcut thats off our property. Now that i'm here at work i've been getting pictures of three good ones strutting around in one of our fields. They are evil creatures.

They are at that. Just got my tail whooped the last few days. Had multiple days with birds in shooting range but unable to see them. Frustrating

Last weekend I went into the same area of the club to see if that gobbler I had worked before might still be talking. I had a couple hens that had come to me and gone away, then this loud-mouthed hen got into a cutting fight with me. That managed to finally get the old boy fired up. He eventually began to make his way off the neighbor's property, and was coming toward all the racket. Thought this time might be the one...........then the hens decided to head his way. They had the high ground on me and I couldn't make a move toward him without getting busted by the hens. Oh well, got to watch a nice strut show. He had brought along a satellite gob and they both strutted their stuff for a bit before heading off with the hens. These dang hens need to find a nest soon, they driving me crazy!!

I agree. They are evil, vile, feathered fiends!

On another note, I have never heard as many gun shots around the edges of our property as this season. There are a LOT of folks turkey hunting around us this year.

Good luck gents........Congrats to bwhunter and buckbrush....y'all keep wearing 'em out!

A lot of hunters this year for sure. Use to have the entire lease to myself during turkey season now everyone wants to take a crack at them this year. Got these Tom's educated quick like. My birds have been paranoid as all get out. Going to give it a rest for a couple days and get everything ready for my Kentucky trip.

Bagged number 1 fellas! Had a few close calls but got it done this evening. It's my first ever bird as I just started turkey hunting this year.

buckbrush, it used to be very low pressure at my club with a good population. Between the clear cutting and everyone wanting to "try" turkey hunting... we have some tight-lipped, well educated birds.

Congrats to TravisBatey! Nice bird!! You are about to understand: Its not just a passion......its an obsession.

I killed another one Saturday morning close to where I killed the no spur bird last Monday. I've certainly been blessed this season. I have hunted hard and things have seemed to fall into place. It sure is a lot of fun chasing them. I may get the opportunity to tag out for the first time in Alabama.

Congrats on the latest birds guys. I had three come in yesterday from 3-400 yards but hung up when they got about 30 yards (which was about 5 yards on the other side of the property line). Will hopefully try them again in a day or two.

Does it count if you shoot the bird and he flops over the line. smile

Congrats bwhunter on a beautiful bird. I've got one more day of work and then off 9. Will hit Alabama a couple more days then head off to Kentucky Saturday for the opener.

Last weekend was very disappointing. Heard 4 different birds, and they all gobbled a few times and shut up once they flew down. Only one was close enough to my listening spot to think about making a move on him. Turns out, he was roosted on the edge of a clear cut. I couldn't close the distance before it got too light to get anywhere near him. Hopefully this Saturday will be better.

Good luck to the guys who are getting after them!

I'll be heading across a couple state lines to an undisclosed location. Got high hopes for what Saturday will bring. Been getting a ton of pictures. Hopefully a couple of upgrade birds. Good luck to all this weekend.

Congrats buckbrush!

Well Saturday was not good. Raining at daylight, neighbor came right in on top of me, and I never saw or heard a bird. Taking Monday off work, gonna spend Sat/Sun/Mon in the woods and try to make something happen.

Good luck everyone.

well it looks like my season may be over, hunted hard for 3 weeks straight on several tracts of public land. had several birds wanting to play but either got henned up or busted by other hunters. i may not have killed one this year but by gosh i sure as hell tried
