Snuck up on a turkey that was chilling in a field. Set up on the far side of the road and tried to call him to me. He was getting a little hung up but was slowly making his way to me. Out of no where here comes some old cowboy and his posey of loud mouth horse riders down the road. The dude was literally yelling. The bird took off... He said, “OH LOOK HERE WE GOT A TURKEY HUNTER, I GUESS WE ARE BEING A LITTLE LOUD HUH? ***YADA YADA YADA OLD MAN TALK**** GOOD LUCK WITH THEM TURKEYS.” I understand that the land is for everyone to share but my goodness a little bit of courtesy goes a long way. I’m sure he wouldn’t like if if I was yelling and making a bunch of racket spooking his horses as he walked by.... I guess I’m just complaining because I missed an opportunity.

I nearly got runt over a few yrs ago by some dirtneck heifer on a horse. Came around a bend in the road at a full gallop. If I hadn't stepped out of the way at the last moment, I'd have gotten run over. She "apologized" by flipping me the bird as she rode off.

Well last two days Ive been working the same gobbler until about 730 to 8 each am. Ive gotten 3 so far. Trying for number 4. Last week I called in 3 longbeards together and missed one. Pretty sure its this one. He will only hit my mouth call nothing else. He wont get closer then 60 to 70 yards..but today crossed the logging road I was on at I think 50 but it was so quick I couldnt shoot him Im gonna see if I can get him tomorrow am. Or since I had another one gobbling on the roost...I may try him instead. Give him a day off and get him missing me. Congrats on the kills today guys!

How did they know there was a turkey hunter in the area? They see you?

Congrats to all the killers, failed once again. Got on 2 gobblers around 730. The were out a out 300 yrds, worked them to nearly 100 and here come the hens. Good by Tom's. It's been tough so far. Had plenty of gobbling, just no happy endings. Doesn't look like good wather for tomorrow, then back to work monday after 10 days off. Will get back after them next friday. Good luck guys
