Well today was my first ever bow hunt. Ive deer hunted for many years but only with a rifle. Well i got in my stand at 3 and at 4, 6 does walked out. I thought about taking 1 but decided to hold off figured maybe a buck would walk out. I was right, at 5 45 a nice 6 pt walked out. He was at 25 yards too! He came out right beside my stand and there was some baby pine trees seperating me from him. He started walking towards an opening so i drawed my bow back guessing he would walk all the way out! We im sitting there holding my bow back and the buck stops dead in his tracks. I guess he heard me breathing hard cuz i had a serious adrenaline rush. My bow is set at 70 lbs and i held it back as long as i could ( 6 minutes ) FInally he stepped out and i was shaking so BAD and my arms were tired but i tried to recover to make a shot. I hit the release and the arrow flew JUST OVER HIS back!! Guess next time ill wait til i know i can shoot to draw my bow back. Gotta learn from mistakes i guess

LOL, if you can hold 70lbs for 6mins you should go up to 80lbs.

Same here dude. Never bow hunted befor thursday. Today I decided to pop up a one man blind (first mistake) without ever trying it first. I barely fit in the damn thing. Well I decided to stick it out. A nice 6 comes out and I let it pass. I normally shoot 8s only, but it was tempting to take with the bow. Anyway, a doe comes out and I'm thinking I am about to get my first bow kill! I draw back 70 from my knees (I never practiced this, second mistake), aim, fire, arrow goes over her back. The fletch hit the tent(not zipped low enough) and made it go high. Lost arrow and scared doe to death. I'm dejected!!
