I think that in the event of some type of calamity that everyone should have enough stuff in their car or easily carried to get them back to wherever they consider their safe place.
The Snowpocalylse was one such example where I read where women were stranded in their cars with no warm clothes, office high heels on with no hiking boots or even sneakers. my Brother in law had to end up spending 3 nights on the side of the interstate in his work van trying to make it back home to Boaz.
So in my opinion everyone needs to have some sort of "Bug Out" bag in their car, so in case of some event they at least have enough supplies to get home. This So bug out can mean bug in.

Too many people spend money they don't have , on things they don't need, to impress people they don't know.

I'm not scared of a firefight. Unless they got a tank. Good news is... Not sure I know many Democrats that can drive one.
I got no reason to bug out or in. I'm going to hang out until it become necessary to Rock Out.... with my Glock Out.

I'm gonna spray their ass with silly string because all my weapons including scissors burnt up in a flood about 10 years ago.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

I got buyout locations my thing is will bugout gear and the militia concept be enough in this situation.

Plan on staying home and closing road into cove. If retreat was necessary go out the back thru the mtns to a more isolated cabin at Hytop.

I carry a backpack in my truck everywhere I go. It has my “stuff” but it’s just a regular Columbia backpack. When you consider how much time we spend on the road, it stands to reason we’re gonna get caught at some point. My bag has bailed me out a bunch of times, from needing a charging cord for my phone to a bandaid to having to spend the night a work once. It’s good to have some things.

It is hard to live off grid in this day and age, even our wells need electricity. I'm not talking about preppers who are geared up for this, I'm talking about the majority of us. So, to me, a bug out bag consists of one in the truck to get me home from wherever I am, and another at home to get my wife and myself to another location we have not far away which has a well that doesn't need electricity. Sometimes on longer trips I will have the larger bag with me, because it has more supplies in it for extended emergencies. I'm not going to spend my whole time trying to plan for every emergency, I travel, I "used to take plane trips," I'm not always close to home, I enjoy vacations. I generally have cash and an ounce of gold somewhere close especially when traveling.

Mine isn't a "bag", its just stuff I try to keep on me at all times.
Water and hatchet in the truck, Concealed carry Weapon, Pocket Knife,
some hooks and serving string for fishing/whatever in my wallet and
a magnesium stick/striker on my key chain.
