From what i read an been told from Pca employees pca is closing the jackson mill at end of april for two months. 360 employees. The paper machines make the type of paper schools use . Like printing paper. The demand for that is low right now but it will come back. Shutting down two paper machines. Im sure they use this time to work on paper machines. The pca mill we haul too in counce tn make cantainerboard type paper for cardboard boxes. They are ramping up there production to meet demand. I realy feel for the jackson area folks. If the pca mill here shut down it would be really bad for this area because they are only option for pine pulp in this area since IP mill closed in courtland. Be thousands of people out of work because all area pine sawmills send there chips to them an it would have a trickle down effect to all loggers. As of today we are good

I bet IP wishes they had courtland back right now. Or maybe not. But that’s a big waste of a concrete slab sitting out there right now.

All of these financial heads talking on TV say don't worry, economy will come back quickly! None of them will admit that for this economy to bounce back quickly, the consumer will have to go out and spend money they won't have. The people that have been forced to follow all the orders from government to stay at home will not be in position to buy anything but essentials for over a year at best. The stock market is hanging on by a thread by the big money funds but it is not going to stay this way long. I think you will see 14000 in very near future and may even go lower. Economy is predicted to contract by 37% in next quarter and talking heads are ignoring this by saying we will come back fast. We all will be reliant upon big brother forever after this pandemic is over.

Guess I'm an example - wife and I have left the house once a week since this started. Being retired the checks still come in (so far) but our excursions have been to the grocery store and that's it. We have always led a simple lifestyle but now we are spending absolutely nothing anywhere on anything. Can go on for months like this if I have to. One thing about old folks is that we've developed skills over the years. Starting to come in useful now.

I am seeing one political party that bristles at the mention of trying to ease the damage on the economy. They go on the immediate political attack. They unfortunately believe that economic damage is to their advantage.

Another customer in Auburn just told me they are pulling the plug and powering down. No maintenance, nothing and they need it. Just the way they operate anyway.
