Didn’t have much luck going in blind. Went to some NF land and there were three dead dogs at the gate I marked on the map and pthat kinda did it for me there so I headed over to the wma to look around. What a beautiful morning. Glad I hit the woods before work. I know it can be done heard a shot at 6:45. Congrats to the killers!

If I hadn’t had my fan this morning he would have hung up on the knoll he was on. As soon as he saw the fan he was steady walking in full strut until he ran his head out a little at 40 yds and Stephen ate it up.

First time out in the wma this year. Found some turkey sign yesterday, and actually spotted a gobbler, so I decide to go set up close to where I think he may roost. Like I thought since nobody is working my weekday hunts had some company.

Please tell me those idiots that ride the roads at 6am and owl hoot over and over are just inexperienced and that's not how your supposed to do it. I was literally surrounded by people hooting. Over and over again. No wonder turkeys are so cautious on public.

Congrats to the killers! What a set of hooks, doecommander! After walking over 6 miles yesterday and hunting until dark yesterday afternoon, I sat the morning out. I probably would have gone if I didn't have such a crappy afternoon sit, but getting up at 3 yesterday morning and not squeezing in a nap, had me pretty tired. I had a buddy who got one on Cahaba this morning. I hope to get back out there this weekend. I really hope to have some private land next season....

I'm glad to hear someone got one on Cahaba. They have been silent the last three times I've been, including this morning.

My wife pulled the trigger at 9am. We got on 3 that were hammering!!! Seriously the best gobbling I’ve heard in several yrs. We made a couple of moves and they did not wanna budge. I told her to sit tight and I eased off behind her about 75 yds or so calling the entire time. Once I got far enough away I got out my slate to sound like multiple hens then did a little fighting sequence. Those birds couldn’t stand it and started marching my way. I knew they should be getting real close to her and was getting nervous. She’s only killed one other turkey but she has great instincts. I started to worry a bit cause I knew they were close then boom! The 20ga barked and I took off running. She tore his head up at 38 yds!! Not sure who was happier! 16lbs, 10” beard and 1” spurs. If someone would post a pic I sure would appreciate it. PM info and I’ll text or email it to ya. Congrats to everyone that killed today!!

Killed one around 10:45 this morning, thanks to BrentM. It is like cheating when you can get him to come along!
