The absolute most ridiculous laughable lack of knowledge thing I’ve ever read on aldeer. I know you retracted but just sayin!!

While those new cumaparts are put-putting that gallon of milk around my 2500 6.0’s are hauling thousands of pounds of tools every mile and keeping the interstate traffic moving.
I now have two with over 300k still getting it done every day. I wouldn’t trade 1 of them for EVERY diesel pickup made in the last 10 years if I had to keep it and feed it everyday.

I own a FLEET of the most dependable lowest maintenance trucks I’ve ever been around and all but 1 are 6.0 2500’s. If that damn 98 model 5.9 Cummins would ever die I’d replace it with another 6.0 2500

It's all good. I'm a RAM / Cummins fan. you're not. No big deal. I hope your engines serve you the best ever, because working on one of them ain't something I want to do.

You’re very wrong about that. I’m a huge Ram Cummins fan, just from back when they made dependable, hard working, long lasting engines to put in them

I was hoping you would chime in, and I’ve seen you say similar in the past. I think this is what I’m going to hold out for, unless I can find a deal on a 7.3 PS.

There was a 2007 2500 Duramax LBZ 4 door, a very desirable preDEF truck on Facebook marketplace in Huntsville earlier this week. One owner truck with low miles, 105K if I remember right, asking 23K. Real nice truck by the pics

7.3 was a good engine no doubt but I’d still buy a 5.9 over a free 7.3. I think the difference in maintenance alone is good but the difference at the pump is significant

I think this is about as much truck as you can get in that price range. Pull all the stuff mentioned easily. 05 pre emissions

I think you have to decide if you want gas or diesel. Best gas 3/4 tons will be a Chev or gmc 2500 with the 6.0 4l80e combo. One of the most bulletproof combos out there and replacement parts are cheap and the truck is easy to work on. The F250 with the 6.2 gas motor is also very good but a bit harder to work on if you do your own work.

As far as diesels, the 5.9 Cummins I think is the best. If you can find a manual 6 speed that is what you will want. The 7.3 powerstrokes are great too but they are not near as easy to work on as the 5.9. I have owned and worked both. The 5.9 is an inline 6 motor and those are very easy to work on and maintain. Lots of room in the engine bay. The 7.3 takes up every inch of engine bay and you gotta take a lot of stuff off to work on just about anything. The 7.3 will last forever but just doesn't have the power the Dodge has if you leave them both stock. If you go 7.3 a small tune will do wonders and wake up the engine.

The person that stated the 6.0 is junk was probably referring to the 6.0 powerstroke, which from the factory was a turd. Can be made into a good engine but was not very good from the factory. The gas Chevrolet 6.0 is one of the best had motors ever made, I currently drive one.

If it's not used for pulling, and not used for driving in town...Then how else would one drive it?? If you own a 3/4 ton and don't pull anything then that's just plain stupid!

That's easy. Semo is obviously looking for a truck that's only hauled fertilizer and cow schit all over a muddy farm.
And probably rolled into a pond at some point.

I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.

My personal truck is a 19 f350 4x4 gasser and my work truck is a 19 Chevy 2500 4x4 gasser... both good trucks. My Ford has 4.30 gears and is set up more for pulling but the Chevy I drive at work ain't no slouch either. I'll say the Chevy rides better but my Ford would handle more weight

Lots of trucks out there aren't really used because guys buy more truck than they need. Haul a camper a couple times a year or pull a sxs to land. What I'm saying is I shy away from ones used to pull campers cross country or used by farmers (unused gooseneck or no 5th wheel holes) The guy pulling his little bass boat to the lake once a month is the kind I'm after. My truck.was.owned by a guy who hauled a sxs to his land 200 miles away every weekend. Lots of highway miles. A truck owned by a city driver in stop and go traffic probably ran higher transmission temps than the guys pulling loads in the country.

The 6.0 Ford. Yeah. the G.M. no. Cummins are great engines but the rest of the truck simply falls apart. It's a standard Chrysler feature.

I've got about 20-30 trucks on the road at all times and most are diesel.

Been really happy with gas F-250's. We never ran any 6.0 gas Chevy but I would get one in a New York minute over anything diesel in today's market. Every diesel truck built past the 7.3 Powerstroke has been a total POS up to the 2019 models. I don't have any 2020 models. They are too complicated and unreliable. I have the service records to prove it. That is Ford, Dodge and Chevy. We have tried them all. DEF was their final nail in the coffin.

I do not understand why people continue to buy them to haul milk around town. By my estimation about 1 in 20 actually has a hitch in the bed. It is a total joke 1/2 of them never see a trailer.

No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
