Seems like the evolution from hard core hunter to camp cook is a common theme. Happened in ours as well. We also have some guys that came to 3 or 4 workdays and never sat in a stand this year. Make no mistake though. Our camp cook is a big buck killer when he wants to be. He’s got an impressive trophy room. But kind of like what you are saying I think. He’s at the point where he just enjoys camp and would rather see someone else get a deer Well said. The camp cook is my dad now.... Killed more deer and better deer over the years than most members in our club(s). But now for him it is about relaxing, cooking and enjoying stories of the day as much as anything. That said, year in year out, he kills one of the nicest deer taken each year.
