I typically buy just your typical thick Carhartt pants for doing off season work up at the farm. The thick material does great with briars and such, but soak up and hold sweat like crazy. I don't expect to find any breathable work pants that are also protective, but have y'all found anything you prefer?

wrangler riggs. I tried carhartt once and they only lasted one day. let a little grinding dust hit them and they fall apart.

Dickies. Same material, same manufacturer, can buy them for half the price. Carhartt has become a label name not a quality manufacturer name. Figured most folks knew that by now.

Coleman makes some good ones if you’re looking for insulation too.
I’ve had problems with the zippers busting, but I figure it’s an problem unique to what it’s gotta hold in.

Joe theres a store in Dodge city Al called blue collar clothes that sells new and used work clothes. They have flame resistant denim pants that are as thick and rugged as anything ive ever seen. The new ones are $12 I think. Migh give them a call.

Go to tractor supply and buy you some blue mountain brand work pants. Not quite as heavy as carhartt but have held up great with me. Can buy them for 12-14 bucks. Sell em in several different colors... it's all I wear at work or when working around outside.

Get off 65 go left, about 1/4 mile on left on one end of a little strip mall type building. Its a little hole in the wall place. When they have my size I buy about all my work britches there.

I had some carhardt jeans and the back pockets would rip loose at the top corners. Too heavy and hot for working in the south imo. Their coats and jackets are awesome though.

Dickies don't hold up anywhere close to Carhartts with me. Dickies fade bad on me after a couple of Washings and the knees ravel out pretty bad when I have to crawl around on them. Carhartts have held up very well for me for years. I buy from Sierra and they are usually marked as seconds, but I've never seen the first flaw with them. I wear Carhartts almost everyday and they have been very good to me.
I can't stand a thief.

I used to wear Carhartt work pants for years. I wore Dickie’s work pants as well. I recently swapped over to 5.11 Tactical and IMO they are superior to Carhartt’s or Dickies work pants. They are lighter and breathe which helps keep You cooler. They cost more but to me are worth it.

Duluth pants are great but pricy. I have a pair of Cat pants that I'm trying out now. Ruggs pockets tear at corners. Blue Mountain have held up fairly well.

Cabelas makes a very, very comfortable work pant. Stretchable waistband that is really comfortable. Owned 2 pairs for 2 years and have not shrank with drying on hot. $29 I believe is what I paid.
