Hate to hear about this happening but it sounds like things are improving with her. Praying she makes a full recovery.

thats good news. I'll tell another dog story thats somewhat inspirational. About 3 years ago we went hog hunting, turned dogs out and within a few minutes they were bayed. We had the head surrounded and it wasn't that big but it was a bad nasty swamp, so no one wanted to walk in there. We turned some fresh dogs out hoping it would break the bay. Sure enough the hog breaks. We round up the dogs and one of them was skint up from head to toe. Couldn't figure out what happened, we could hear the bay and it didn't sound like they were getting ruffed up by a bad hog or anything. Plus this was a loose baying dog ( he bays only, he don't try to catch at all). We went on about our business. At the end of the day when we was uncollaring we noticed the collar was skint up, then it dawned on us what happened. The pig broke and crossed the road, the dog got run over crossing behind the pig, how it didn't kill him is a thing of mystery. Must of centered him up and didnt get under the wheels, but it had to of rolled and drug him cause like i said he was bleeding all over, but none of it was deep. He made a full recovery. He was hunting again in 3-4 weeks, probably could of hunted him sooner but didn't wanna take any chances.

Just got the latest update from my son. The vet doesn’t believe she will have any lasting effects from the concussion. He said she was fully alert and “all there” this morning. He also believes he can save her leg. She has feeling on both sides of her paw. He’s doing the surgery to repair the leg later this afternoon.

Sonny, just went through something similar with my dog but it was the back leg and I am the one that ran over him. His back leg was in bad shape and required plates, wire, etc. Took some time after surgery but he is completely normal now except I notice he seems to stretch a little more than normal after he has been laying down for awhile.

Pic my son just sent me. She looks A LOT better. From what the vet told him when he got there, she may not be out of the woods on saving the leg yet though. Carrying her back for the surgery here shortly. ![[Linked Image]](https://i.postimg.cc/Ght5rgGK/9-C7-A5-BAD-A48-C-47-B1-B02-D-585-BE11-A866-B.jpg)

Just to give you some info, when I was a kid our dog was hit when he was about 6 years old. He was banged up, but the worst damage was his left front leg. Not broken, but the nerves were shot. The vet said to keep it tied up and the nerves might regenerate. The dog would have none of that, kept getting his leg loose, and dragging it, so it was getting infected. My dad told the vet to take the leg off rather than putting the dog down. That old dog lived another 7 or 8 years and got around fine on 3 legs. He was a great watch dog and having just 3 legs didn't hinder him a bit.

She made it through the surgery fine and she got to keep her leg. She should be on her way home now. I stopped by to see her on my way to work and took care of the bill. I swore I’d never spend that much on a vet bill for a dog. 😳 The second pic I posted of her with my son is the reason I didn’t bat an eye when they gave me the bill. Thanks for all of the prayers and well wishes guys.

A hundred years from now it won't matter how much you spent on that vet bill. We aren't going to take any money with us when we leave here anyway. Your dog is worth it. So glad to hear of a great outcome.
