My son’s dog, Aria, was hit by a truck just before I left for work this evening. I heard the truck stop and take off just as I was walking into the garage. When I let the door up I could see Bailey (the pup I got from NoMercy a few weeks ago) walking circles around something out by the road. When he saw me he ran half way to me and back to the spot where I first saw him like he was trying to show me something. Got out there to her and she didn’t look very good at all. I was afraid I was was going to have to get my pistol and put her down. Once I squatted down beside her she got a little more alert. One of her pupils was dilated and her right leg was broken pretty bad. I loaded her up and hauled ass to the vet. He did an ultrasound and couldn’t detect any internal bleeding. His main concern is the head injury. He said since she was alert that was a good sign. Got her on meds to keep her sedated and try to keep the brain swelling down. So all we can do is wait and see if pulls through tonight. He said he would have to do surgery on her leg and might have to amputate it. Sure hopes she pulls through. My son is fixing to start his last year of pharmacy school up at Samford. He got her a little over 3 years ago. A few months after getting her he moved in with a buddy of his up near Samford. There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??
