Coming from a person that hunts in a location that the rut has always been during the season. So seriously curious: do you quit hunting when the rut comes in or are you just a hypocrite for hunting when it is "easier" or " more exciting"?


I hunt when I can, from opening to closing day. Heat of October, full moon, rainstorms, cold, rut, post-rut, whenever.

I don't need to or have to hunt during "the rut" when bucks are chasing, have let their guard down and are at their absolute easiest to kill to be able to enjoy the season. I go when I can because I enjoy hunting.

And where I hunt, the peak rut and breeding hasn't occurred yet.

What do you hunt in South Florida because according the State everywhere is past peak rut at this point.
I hunt when it is most effective to kill a mature buck because i get no enjoyment from shooting does, yearlings or young bucks, but that just me and I don't hold that against those that do. I enjoy being outdoors and spend more time in the woods than most I just don't spend it looking at a food plot or sitting in a tree when it is not an effective time to do it for my goals. I find it funny that you rail against a mentality that you and others in your profession created honestly.
