I dont want or need anymore laws, confusing regulations and seasons. If your deer dont rut until Late Jan then I wouldnt hunt until late Jan or very rarely until then to not pressure them.

Id instead go to a spot in the state they are rutting.

I just got more land in Marion county. Why? because our rut dies around xmas and it is pretty dead up here. But in Marion County its just getting going. So now Ill be able to hunt a different rut in a different area. Pretty simple and no new laws needed.

My opinion on shortening the season is preservation of our already declining deer herd, nothing to do with the fact that I do or don't want to hunt 4 months. Most guys on this site have the same interest, but I believe Alabama hunters as a whole do not. Seems like more and more are outlaws that just wanna kill something (anything). A shorter season is about the only way to help curb that. By pushing the season out to the end of Feb in North AL only gives them more days to legally continue the slaughter.
