Shorter season? Meh. But the North zone doesn't need to be hunting in Feb. The South zone, they have a good argument with data to back up Feb hunting.
For those that haven't been keeping up, per the .minutes from the last CAB meeting our season being extended on the front end sounds like a done deal. The data (what ever that is) has been collected and it's just doing it. That's the info. Form your own opinion. Do you ever pay ANY attention to the states in the midwest or north or west that have a larger herd of mature deer AND MUCH, MUCH shorter seasons? Another surprise is that they have check systems that most all of the hunters use and their conservation departments actually use that data. Another surprise is that fines for violations are serious enough to get the attention of offenders. See a pattern here vs Alabama?
