Switching from cell phone to landline.....my father died 12 years ago. My mom has never erased his intro on the phone. So whenever I call my mom's land line and she doesn't answer, I get to hear my dad do the intro for the voice mail. It's really cool. She will never erase it, and I hope the phone doesn't break.

I have my dads last voicemail and send a picture of whatever I killed or “ guided / called in” to his number. A woman who now has his old # let me know I had the wrong number and I then explained that I had zero intentions of stopping. She sent back a thumbs up.
Give me bout 15 more minutes, I was dreamin about beavers.......... Si Robertson

The first person I call every time I kill one is my dad but he was hunting when I killed my best buck ever this year so I couldn’t call him but I text him and I plan on saving a screen shot of it and printing it out one day and just hanging it from the mount

My wife never sent voice text but I have kept all of her regular text. I go back and read them from time to time. They will never be deleted by choice. It'd been more than 3 years now. Her sister de-activated the FB account because it was too much for her when she was sent reminders about their friendships/birthdays and such. Sometimes I wish it was still up but I get why she shut it down.

Still have my brothers saved. Right after he passed I would call his phone to hear his voicemail message.

Had a friend that received a call from his Mother a few weeks ago, and she's been gone for a few years 😯 kinda freaked him out a bit...

Yes I do. One that is precious to me is a lady that passed away a few days after leaving me a voicemail thanking my wife and I for fixing some meals for her and her husband. She was a sweet lady with a strong southern accent that always reminds me of her when I listen to her voicemail

Fox News ran a story a few months back on this subject. A girl's father died and she would periodically text messages to his cell #. Her messages read more like diary entries...she loved him...she missed him...she thought about him often...she wished she could hear from him. She did this for several years, and recently, a man replied to her from that cell #. The man had been getting her texts all along but couldn't get up the nerve to reply. He had lost a daughter around the same time the other girl lost her dad. So this stranger had been reading her mystery texts and finally got up the courage to contact the young lady. He basically said the random texts became like a lifeline to him as we was grieving over his daughter. Those to met in person and realized their "coincidences" in life brought them together for a purpose that helped them both press ahead in life. I saw that I thought it was pretty amazing. Heart touching. I have a few. Still have the last text Mangler sent me.

The oldest text I have on my phones is June 4th, 2018 - it is a happy birthday text from my best friend. He passed a couple of months later - hopefully, I will never lose it.

My mom still has my dad's greeting on her answering machine on her landline also. She had it put on 3 of those little micro cassettes in case she ever loses it on her. Now, what she'll do when those tiny cassettes can't be played because there is no device to fit them is another story.
