It will be interesting to see how they handle the National Anthem/ Flag controversies and similar issues. I read where they won't test for Mary Jane which is fine since it is now legal in many states. Maybe that was a trade off with the players. Y'all can smoke the weed as long as you don't voice opinion that are going to turn middle America away.

If it is going to work they can't have any controversies. History should tell them that they will badly need every fan they can get.

I like football so I'll give it a try as long as there is nothing else I want to watch.

Effectively, they don't even test for marijuana in college, much less NFL. They give all the players a 2-week heads up, so they can test clean. A huge percentage of college players smoke weed daily.

Depending on the test 2 weeks is not enough to test clean for weed for a daily smoker. It would stay in a lineman longer than a scrawny wide receiver though. Maybe somebody should file for discrimination!

Not going to watch. I wish they'd put division 2 college football on in the spring. Would eliminate the need for trash games in the fall. Plus it would be cool to watch some of these smaller schools play. I'm already thinking about fishing

Quinton Flowers - shattered college records and couldn't last but a few weeks in the NFL.

I'm going to watch.... what else is there to do when you're not fishing or working? I can't watch Baseball on TV and I can't stand basketball. Hockey is ok to watch. This is my least favorite time of year. I guess I will eventually have to buy a boat.

I'll be watching Seattle games because a close friend of mine son, Brandon Silvers who was QB at Troy is playing.

Little more than backyard football with some unique tweaks and rules. I'll watch maybe a game to see some of the new stuff.

I think the only viable alternative for spring football was the USFL and it just couldn't compete with the churn of the NFL, for many reasons. But a bunch of us went down to watch Herschel and the Generals in Birmingham, and it was fun. The league had real athletes who the public knew about and played some good ball.

Unfortunately, some owners were stupid about football and finances. Being wealthy doesn't automatically make you smart. Like other leagues - see the aborted Alliance of American Football, along with other minor league teams everywhere - they needed a salary cap, a commissioner with balls to keep the egotistical owners in line, and none of that happened.

The USFL was fun, though. I think this new McMahon league will be gone in 2-3 seasons, at most.

XFL should be a good thing to atleast hold us over until good fishing time. I think many of these players could improve their stock for the NFL and get picked up later in the offseason.

Got to give it to them they gave all the better cameras when they came out originally and all football is still using them

20 years ago pole dancing was something that was only talked about happening in late night clubs, now its shown on the biggest tv show on Earth. Considering that the XFL is is going to tempt boundaries, there may be some real interesting sideline shows going on.
