Congrats to all the successful stories of today. I’m tagged out and my wife will kill me if I bring home any more meat. Going to go tomorrow and check cams for the heck of it and start focusing on turkeys.

Me and my boy have tried really hard this season to let the young ones go and wait on a big mature deer. I started getting pics of what I thought was a "good deer" last sunday. He was in and out of our food plot several times in two days. I showed his picture to some people, they agreed he was mature and big. I killed him tuesday. He was 158lb and estimated by jawbone looking at chart ti be 2yr old(i really think he was 3yo, chart seems to run a year behind here). I was pretty disappointed because I was trying pretty hard and had failed because of misjudgement. Pretty good buck still but not what I was after. Joseph has passed several bucks this year as big as anything he has killed. After alot of thought I told my boy thurs evening that I was proud of his restraint and having tried to do the right thing with me but having only two more days he could hunt this season, if he saw a buck he liked and wanted to kill, go ahead it was his choice. The one he saw next was the biggest racked buck he had saw all year, not a giant by any means, but a fine bick for a 12yo who got up early on his own and set out to kill a deer. This one weighed 132lb. Again not what we wanted exactly but it was his biggest racked buck ever and his season is ending on a good note instead of disappointment.

![[Linked Image]](https://i.imgur.com/XUJsmuz.png) This is the buck I killed tuesday. Looks like a good one. Turned out to be a little small and young. You cant always believe what the pictures are telling you.
