Amazing restoration but I'm disappointed that he didn't shoot it. FWIW, I had a stock repaired on a family heirloom in a very similar way and it looks great.

I watched but without sound....did he ever mention what he was using to remove the rust and clean up the parts? I ask because I have a small Mossberg 410 pump that I found in the woods a few years ago. It was caked in mud and had been there a bit. I cleaned it out and and wiped it down, and it shoots but doesn't want to cycle. It is difficult to even cycle unfired shells through it, and very difficult to eject a spent shell. I know the internals are in rough shape, but not nearly as rough as the one in that video. Would like to get it functional without having to pay a gunsmith to do it, because frankly that would cost nearly as much as just buying a new one.

He didn't really explain it. I've seen vinegar used to remove heavy rust. Also some use an electrolysis.

This is something I'd need to be able to do with basic tools/equipment, otherwise it simply wouldn't be worth the time/expense. I think, at least with the internals, some of the parts would need to be polished due to some minor pitting...not sure if it's minor enough that I could knock it out with a dremel. IF (and that's a BIG if) I could get it functioning like new, then I might consider spending the money to have it cerakoted.

Yeah, evaporust is some good stuff...I bought the last I had in a 5 gal container.
Gomer, electrolysis is fairly easy...You can do it with a battery charger and some light bulbs wired in series for resistors.

Doesn't have to be a battery charger and light bulbs aren't necessary. It will work fine with a power supply. Make sure the power supply can operate at a dead short. Some the cheaper switching power supply will not handle operating at a dead short. The newer battery chargers/power supplies will cycle off unless you put a battery inline. If you have a old school transformer battery charger it will work great. The cheapest route is use a computer power supply. It will work for the occasional use.
