I used to be a muck fan, still have 3 pairs; but I keep having issues with the soles falling off. Two of the pairs I currently have are doing it. I think I will try a pair of lacrosse or Irish setters.

I've got a pair of lacrosse aerohead that I've been hunting with for 2 seasons now and love them. Only problem is I wish I would've bought 2 pair instead of 1 when they had them on sale.

I had the same issue on 2 pair.

Tried about all of them.I'd say it matters what aspects of the boot are most important to you(weight, comfort, warmth, price, etc.) because they're definitely not all the same.Right now,Kamik has my vote. But I'm about to try some Dryshod's...

Yep, my son and I both wear Kamiks. They can be bought on sale on Amazon very reasonable and hold up much better than Muck.

I am probably more rough on rubber boots than most guys as a year round wearer, heavy set guy, and my feet sweat alot. None of the boots I have tried have remained water proof or retained the sole more than two years.

Otherwise....Muck- 3/10 durability, 2/10 on warmth, 7/10 on comfort. BOGGS Blaze 1000- 7/10 durability, 8/10 warmth, 10/10 comfort. Cabelas Zoned Comfort Trac 2000g Thinsulate- 8/10 durability, 10/10 plus on warmth, 7/10 comfort (rubs on back of ankles).

I value warmth over any other paramaters and the Cabelas boots have been the first boot that I can wear thinner wool socks to cut down on sweat and still have my feet remain warm.

Wall Mart specials. $29. Used them for years. Feet dry and warm with the right socks. Maybe this thread should be about socks? No snake bite stories to tell but I was able to come out of em quickly when I sat down beside a 6 foot rattlesnake while turkey huntin last year.

the lacrosse alphas come in a snake proof model and are very comfortable for a snake boot they cost a few extra dollars but are worth it IMO if im gonna wear calf high boots they might ass well be snake proof for the kinda money im gonna spend on them
