I have crossed the Columbia bar at the mouth of the Columbia river in 8-10’ waves. We were on 80’ charters, there ain’t no way they were in waves that big in a 20’ max length boat. Done the same, we drifted a tad to far out, scared the sh**out of everyone, including the captain.
