If I shot a deer like that... I’d call my wife first to tell her about it. Then I’d call the GW and tell him I needed him ASAP at the kill site. I wouldn’t move that buck until he was there and documented it. That’s the ONLY thing that would shut up the naysayers. And even then someone would still say it was shot illegally.

If the game wardens think it could be a suspicious story, can’t they get the hunter to take them to place it was killed? When that carcass laying by the towers he’s gonna be in deep doodoo! They should first confiscate the head , then get the "hunter" to take them to the carcass. If he can't produce the matching carcass in a area he can legally hunt, the head becomes property of the state whether they can make a case or not.

I guess these big buck contests don't require the body be attached to the head to enter?? No idea- never entered one. That is what would stand out to me. Hope it was legal.

If it’s the same guy, which I was told it is, he got caught out there about 15 or so years ago. Tried to get away on atv and damn near about killed himself in a wreck or something during the pursuit.
From what I hear his buddy is claiming now to have been the shooter. Sounds like they are arguing over a 20 thousand dollar fine. lol

Apparently there are 2 guys have been bragging about what they were doing and may have talked just a little too much. I won’t get into what I heard as far as how they actually killed this deer...or the others...until the warden makes his case....but it was stupidity for sure.
