If I shot a deer like that... I’d call my wife first to tell her about it. Then I’d call the GW and tell him I needed him ASAP at the kill site. I wouldn’t move that buck until he was there and documented it. That’s the ONLY thing that would shut up the naysayers. And even then someone would still say it was shot illegally.
