Thinking about camping for a few days here. Anyone have input on how bad crime is in this area?

Have not heard of any when you planning to go I am only about six miles from there?Oh I would stay away from Turtle Creek grill 😡

If it is just for purposes of camping you may want to consider Roebuck. They have all the amenities a State Park offers. However, for hunting purposes and accessing Demopolis WMA you would have to lock through the dam or trailer your boat to the ramp below lock 5. I think it would only be a 15-20 minute drive from Roebuck.

Jennings Ferry is the campground behind Roebuck. It’s quiet with very nice restrooms and showers.

+1 on Jennings ferry very quiet and clean.robuck landing has good food and check out hunters family restaurant in Akron for some good soul food while in area

Go stay down at forkland down near demopolis. A lot more land down that way and more deer too. Something bad happened to the deer population several years ago at lock 5 and Its still nothing like it used to be
