We have the blink xt2 cameras. They have been awesome.
Well, the way I see it is there's just too many assholes
On a good day there's a bunch of assholes in here.

Ring. I have the doorbell and several tag along cams. Works great as long as you have a strong WiFi and want to view them from your phone.

We have the Ring Pro. The Pro model uses power from the doorbell transformer, thus no battery is needed.

We got a Blink XT2 for christmas.....I had high hopes for it but will be returning it. No matter how I position it, it only picks up about 12' away. You can see my truck in the driveway in plain view, 20' from the door, but it wont pick up someone snooping around. It only picks someone up once they're AT the door, then the delay is about 15 seconds before it notifies me. From what I've read, they struggle with head-on motion and work better with lateral motion, but that kinda defeats the purpose of a front porch camera if you cant get people approaching the porch.
May try the Ring doorbell, but I'm concerned about that one because, due to the placement, it will be in direct sunlight for the last 3-4 hrs a day. Anyone have one that gets direct sunlight? Does it blind them like your think it would? Also, how does the ring do with head-on motion?

Gomer's doing something wrong ... i triggered mine going to get the mail last night & within 2 seconds my phone was beeping w/the video; i've also done head-on tests & it triggers perfectly ... one thing i made SURE to do is position the "receiver" puck as closely to the camera as possible, and made sure it had plenty of signal/juice to my WiFi box ...

Have you checked the sensitivity?

I've tried adjusting the sensitivity from 1 to 9 and everything I between. Adjusted the trigger reset speed as high and low as it will go....no matter how I adjust it, the delay is anywhere from 10 to 15 seconds....and no matter how/where i mount it, it only pics up movement out to about 15' max, and that's only if the movement is almost perfectly side to side in the field of view. If you walk straight AT the camera, you can nearly get within arm's reach of the camera before it triggers....and that is no matter how you adjust the settings. Tried mounting it up high Tried mounting it down low High sensitivity Low sensitivity Fast trigger reset Slower trigger reset 3 different pairs of new batteries (to make sure they weren't low) Wifi signal strong I'm done fooling with it. For $100, I'll just build a punji trap at the front door and be done with it

Have you tried it at a different location (back door) and see if you have same results? I have heard good reviews on the Blink stuff, that one may be a lemon.

We got one as well. I have a camera facing the rd down my driveway and everytime a car drives by it sets it off. Even lowered the sensitivity.

We have a ring doorbell camera. Was easy to install and operate. I enjoy being able to talk to delivery people,. I catch some of them off guard and enjoy the look on their faces when i start talking. I had a fedex man break and run for his truck when he heard the dogs start barking and come to the side of the house. Funny as hell. i pay about $30 dollars a year to be able to excess all the past events. Cars on the road don't set mine off but the neighborhood animals do.
