Red squirrels are not a native species to Alabama. Fox squirrel, Eastern Gray Squirrel, and the Southern Flying Squirrel are the only three species of squirrels.
The fox squirrel is the only native squirrel in alabama. the grey squirrel is from europe and has been slowly taking over. I try to kill all the grey ones I see and leave the fox squirrels alone
