My Son is in a wedding party this weekend. He is looking for a lunch stop between Oxford and Heflin that won’t break the bank. He’ll be traveling tomorrow,so if any of y’all may have a recommendation on a cafe with a meat and 3 would be appreciated.

I saw a place in Oxford. J&E restaurant. Is it any good? Is it in a questionable area?

Between Oxford and Heflin there aint even a decent place to purge a turd much less get a decent sit down meal. I suggest pack a pic-nic-bascket.

A bit out of his direct route, but if he has time, Mata's Greek Pizza is possibly the best pizza in Alabama.

Just a suggestion on what I figured out years ago...I travel all over the country, backroads many times.
Whatever town he’s planning on stopping in, call the local fire department (non-emergency number). Most of the times they’re GREAT guys and ladies, and the fire department KNOWS EVERY SINGLE ADDRESS in their district...and are pretty cool about offers a great place to eat if you’re courteous to them.

-Butchman205 words of wisdom! Haha!

M & J's - 219 Colonial Dr, Oxford, AL 36203

it's a small country style buffet, not cafe, but pretty good food each time I've been there. Think they open around 11. In-laws like eating there and we go with them sometimes.

I take offense to that. I’m originally from that area. Na just joking. I am originally from Heflin but there’s nothing much to eat around there. If you break down I can hook you up with a tow truck though.

I'm in Oxford / Anniston quite a bit. I usually eat at Moe's, Firehouse Subs or the Messican place next to it.
