I have been feeding corn for years, just never hunted over it. That 50 dollar lic. encouraged me to move my feeders out of the woods and put them on plots. I killed a nice 8 point standing by a feeder Monday afternoon. It works in Ala just like it works in Fla.

Based on my observations there will be a LOT more big deer killed this season.
2 ingredients needed. Having a good deer coming to a feeder and in some cases add patience.
I think the required skill level is about Zero after that. You just have to catch it there in the daylight is the only thing but 150 yards from the shooting house window you can pretty much sit there playing on your phone and wait it out..
They appear to me to be coming to the corn better than the wheat but call me crazy.
No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.

Based on my observations there will be a LOT more big deer killed this season. We are two months in and have not seen any such reports. In fact it seems pretty slow for "big bucks" so far.

Corn holds the does, later in the year the does hold the bucks. This!

I think its made things worse in my club. Members are constantly in and out of the property putting out feed and checking cameras. Way more pressure than normal. I havent had a daytime buck on cameras since bow season started. ".... an Auburn University study showed that hunting pressure does not get deer on their feet…and if it does, it has them moving in places hunters aren't. That study showed that after just 12 hours of hunting pressure, bucks were a whopping 50 percent less likely to move in daylight hours in an area where they had felt any hunting pressure. " Is checking and filling feeders hunting pressure?? Is checking foodplot growth hunting pressure?? I treat it like it is.

We haven't killed anymore deer this year than years before. The one thing I have noticed is that it has caused the deer to change their routine patterns and trails that they typically follow. Every body and their brother has a pile Big & J, corn or rice bran scattered throughout the woods so it is virtually impossible to actually HUNT DEER like they were intended to be hunted anymore.

Sightings are up on the 11 acres here at the house. I mostly just watch em.
I used to put corn in a feeder just for holding deer/watching in back yard.
Finally learned how to use corn. Spreading it is so much better. Or it has seemed that way to me. The deer are more relaxed and they just mosey around and graze.
Corn don’t cure playing the wind and limiting your intrusions into the woods. Less is more when it comes to going in and out and sitting your stands/blinds.

Yes it has made a difference. Feeder went off at 7:02 one morning and I had a doe on the ground at 7:18. Our rut is not until later in Jan. So I’m not hunting a couple of feeders and hoping a buck will come check for does during the rut.

I killed a small 8 point due to corn opening day of bow season. I had a bachelor group of 6 hitting it every evening. I quit feeding not long after that because they’d only hit it at night. Gets expensive after a while

Only corn I use is acorn. The only field I have hunted that has a feeder anywhere close to it, I watched a spike walk down the road past where it was to get to an oak tree that was falling like rain.

My family is enjoying watching them too. Daughter sent me a pic of doe in what I call “our backfield” this afternoon. Then wife came home and said “There’s 3 deer in the back field.” The back field is right behind the house and is mainly a watching field.
