It seems you might be liable for any tickets, toll charges and maybe insurance(wrecks). Not sure about the Alabama laws. This is why you need to have a face to face at the court house on a vehicle sale to make sure it isn't in your name. The title has my name listed as the seller, and his as the buyer. I also have the tag still. What would meeting at the courthouse do? Make him register it then and there or not sell it to him? I feel like I’ve done everything correct legally, and ole boy is just trying to pull a fast one. Y’all got me nervous saying I still own it. Even though I signed over the title if he doesn’t register it I still own it?
