I've hunted in multiple low deer density areas. "Corn pile test" is a great test. If you have a pile of corn rot/sour mildew, run as fast as you can and don't look back. Your deer hunting there will be horrible. It means there's not many deer, and there's not much you can do to fix it.
You can fix it but it takes 5-6 years. Ask me how I know 😁 Please tell me how  We haven't shot a doe in a decade on our Alabama property, and have made lots of habitat improvements. We will occasionally see a deer, but it's still pretty sad. This isn't 40 acres either.... U must hunt close to me 😃
