That it takes time to find good members for a hunting Club been hunting along time in our Club and we have truly been blessed this year with all our members and their not afraid to work and get the job done . That it also takes time to recover from a doe slaughtering after years of knocking them down and if you want kill them on greenfields your chances of seeing alot of pretty decent bucks goes up tremendously we quit shooting does on greenfields 2 yeaers ago and it has made a huge difference.

I've learned (been reminded) that we as hunters still can't stand together as one. We fight, argue and tear each other down with our words just because someone chooses to hunt a little different than what we choose. We, as a group, are our own worst enemy. I firmly believe that our sport will one day be so regulated and limited that it will either be completely stamped out or hunters will not want to go through the hassle for what is left of it. Then all that will be left to do will be to stand around and wander how and why. That saddens me because future generations, our children and grandchildren, deserve better.

I have learned that having 18 lock-ons strategically positioned in desireable locations for any wind direction greatly improves your chance of killing a trophy buck.

Spend more time scouting and then be available when everything is correct to hunt a specific area or buck. And most of all, never hunt an area just because you know there is a good buck there if the elements are not in your favor 110%. It only takes one "oh $hit moment" to bump that buck from that area.

That anti hunters are fanatics! That they do not care if what they say and do is totally stupid!

Example: A trapper is called in to trap problem beavers around high dollar residential neighborhood. One resident starts to complain about the trapping because she doesn't think any animal should be "bothered".

After a detailed explanation of the problem and trapping method "conibear traps". She asked where are the beavers going to be released? She wanted to make sure they would be happy there.

I learned that some people actually believe hungry deer will leave a nice safe location if they get hungry.

I learned that some people actually think that meat from grocery stores is not from animals.

Unfortunately, I don't think I learned anything new, but I did have several observations greatly reenforced, such as:

1) How much very warm and/or very windy weather reduces daylight deer activity and hunter sightings of deer.

2) How sensative older bucks are to hunting pressure and how rapidly they react to it.

3) Just because you pick the right stand on the right day, and have a good buck come in close, it doesn't always mean you can kill him! frown
