What do you guys think about this starter kit for trapping coyotes? Others i should look at? I know i will probably need to get some wax and a release pole just in case i catch a dog/cat or other non intended species. I am a newbie for sure but would like to give it a try. Thanks for any input. https://www.minntrapprod.com/MB-Predator-Starter-Kit-MB-550s/productinfo/550START/

Either look to be decent kits. The both likely have items you will not use. Price just Traps, anchors and sifter and compare to the kit prices. I have looked hard at the one doublefist posted but all I really needed out of it was the traps, sifter. I already have anchors and everything else I need. You can use wool under the pan to keep dirt out or TP.
A catch pole is required in Alabama. You must have it with you.

You can build your catch pole out of conduit and coated cable.
I wouldn't use Sheep's wool under the pan, high chance of dug up traps. Get a bag of polyfil from craft section at Walmart. It will last a looonnnggg time. Store it sealed up and away from lures, etc.

I use a mix of Bridger #2 Dogless and MB550. Have some others include a few K9 Extremes. For the $ I like the Bridger #2.

Just to update on my progress being a newbie. The first week I had my traps out i was just catching opossums. Then i could tell something wasn't right because I would have tracks in my sets and even had one or 2 that had been dug around but nothing in them. I figured I was not bedding them good enough with the problems I was having so I went and reset them all. By all I mean the 3 of the 6 that the starter kit came with. First night after redoing them all and bedding them really good I went 3 for 3 (coon, opossum, and first coyote). There is definitely a learning curve/Art to this but I am slowly figuring it out. I have a feeling there will be many coyotes meet their end in the next few months.

I looked at the starter kits, but decided to stop at 4 traps. By the time I pieced together all i needed, I was right at $150, and so they threw in a 1.5 bridger for free. Worked out good for me.... being that I didn't want a half dozen.
You gonna pull them pistols, or whistle Dixie?
