True, even though with a plot you're helping congregate deer in one area for an unnatural, supplemental food-substance source as they pee, poop, leave saliva and communicate with each other via touching noses.

Just like they do when they're eating corn spewed by a spinner feeder or have their head in a trough.

But, food plots are "conservation" and OK because they don't help spread CeeDubyaDee like evil unethical corn feeders-troughs-piles.
