OK, I searched through the forums for this answer but all I can find is discussing tripod stands for sitting and hunting...I'm looking for input on rifle tripods. I see the BOG POD tripod, looks nice but the legs look a little spindly ..what are some reviews of either that tripod or others? want 3 legs not 2.

fire away, and thanks

The Primos trigger stick is pretty nice, and not too expensive.

I have shot off a Spartan Sentinel. Awesome, rock solid, but it costs as much as some rifles.

I have a tripod that I ordered last year from Hog Saddle. It is very heavy duty and I am pleased with how it performs. I harvested a big doe at 380 yards off it last year, which is my furthest deer to date. . I have recently seen the BOG Pod and ALMOST wish I had looked at it before I spent a big chunk of $ on mine. It is much lighter than what I have, which I would think a plus if you have to carry it far to your stand. On the flip side, I like the fact that mine is fairly heavy. I just feel it is a more solid platform and more stable (I even hang a bag under mine for added stability) However I do like the clamp that comes on the BOG Pod and the whole unit looks to be well designed. I don’t know if any of this helps but wish you luck

if God wanted me to be a vegetarian, he would have made shooting brussel sprouts more fun!

I’ve had issues with the trigger stick. Mine WILL NOT hold a 9lb gun when extended. Not even sure what I did with it.

No issues with the trigger stick holding a remmy 870 20ga or mod 7 7-08 for several kids for several years.

Yours was the single, right?

I bought the tripod version, and have had no problems.

Buy the Pig setup mentioned above. The Pig Tripod with a pig saddle is about the sturdiest setup for the money. It’s a little on the heavy side but it’s rock solid. It’s some of the best money I’ve spent as far as shooting goes. It’s a god send when it comes to hunting with kids too.

I've use the cheap shooting stick's from Walmart for years. Hard for to set right on the ground for long so I use a chair.

I went with the pig tripod and an innorel 44 mm ball head from Amazon and a RRS m-lok plate for my AR. I haven’t went long with it yet but it’s been solid when shooting at 100. Only $270 for all 3 pieces. You can replace the RRS plate with a pig saddle or a Kopfjager grip if you have a regular stock on your rifle

What's wrong with the Caldwell? That's what I use for long shots out of a shooting house. I tote a Primos Trigger stick if I am out walking around it equally makes a decent walking stick.
