“Dang lazy millennial corn hunters! I’m going to go grab my $1000 gun with my $1500 scope and sit on this gas line (that someone else made) and watch this syntheticly fertilized plot that we put in using my air conditioned tractor, just like my great great grandfather did back when hunters were real hunters.” Heynow, I got a.c. In my tractor. I’ll trade with ya!

The stupidity of people, young and old, thinking corn is a magic wand is what amazes me. Take an inefficient/new hunter, give him corn , and odds are he can kill 2 of his 3 bucks for the year... So, to some it is magic.

Corn is not the problem with Alabama hunting but it probably will not help it either

I know it pisses me off.
Just the other day I was in nothing but my loin cloth slipping up on a big doe with my sharpened rock in hand. I got 20 yards away and saw that she was eating out of another members corn pile so I had to let her go. It would have caused me to be a lesser man if I had followed through with it.

yep, their lazy. first its shooting deer over corn. then they don't even want to look for the deer and call a dog, and now they won't even field dress their own deer.

Rev has killed some nice deer. Now the corn thing I could care less about but if the man is gonna charge a $15 fee for it then it should apply to food plots also.

Sooooooo......for those of you who have actually hunted in other states that have used corn for dozens of years. You know it is not magic. Do deer eat it....yes. They also eat a lot of other things. I saw 18 deer this morning. I had a feeder 60 yards out and there was corn on the ground. Not one deer went to the feeder. They all fed on the white oak acorns around me. No Magic. So I have had about 80 deer in bow range this year. Have I killed 80 deer?....No. I haven’t even drawn my bow back. See the thing is, not everyone shoots every deer they see. Me and my hunting partners are more about conservation than anything. We feed the deer with corn and food plots.
Sooooo.....if every redneck asshole in Alabama shoots every deer that comes to a corn pile will we have a problem? Maybe, but the way I see it, the problem is with the hunter and not the corn. I know or have heard of guys shooting 20 deer a year. Not to judge, because when I was a young man, I would do the same thing. But I think many if not most people evolve into more of a game manager rather than just a blood thirsty killer. Once again, not judging anyone, especially someone new to hunting who still gets off on the kill. But I think hunting evolves into something bigger for most of us.
I also grew up running dogs. I would much rather see people hunting over corn than running dogs. It is fun, but running dogs takes no thought or intelligence. Yes it’s fun. However, there are so many bad things that come from it. Many people have been killed over dog running disputes in this state too! Glad to see it mostly gone.
Hunting brings out the worst in people.

I think we are going to see a hell of a lot of deer killed this season because of corn. The processor near me has taken in over 100 deer so far in BOW season, way more than any of the last years.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

Oh yeah. Hunting sucks now. If you’ve got a patch of woods in your back yard, chances are you got deer. And quality seems to be on the rise in a lot of areas. Surely to God people won’t kill em all because of corn. I hope people realize they don’t have to shoot em all.
