I’m planning to get in on the Black Warrior B-side early gun hunt this weekend (Nov8-10). Does anybody have input on why the forest service is not giving out permits until 5AM- the day of the hunt? Also, have any of you bow-hunters seen much deer activity as in pre-rut yet? And lastly, if you hunt the areas with 2 green fields, do you put a note up to notify others what field or area that you are in? Thanks for any reasonable answers.

Choccolocco here near me is having one also, and they've got signs posted that one of the two primary entrance roads will be closed starting this Friday. Dear goodness that's gonna be a mess.
We were on the edge of Eternia, when the power of Greyskull began to take hold.

This is taken from atop of the map permit"Permits for Zone B gun deer hunts will be issued from the Black Warrior Headquarters checking station, 200 yards off of Hwy. 33 on the Northwest Road (Forest Service Rd. 208), on the dates of the
hunts; check station will be open by 5:00 AM. Season map/permits for all hunts, except Zone B gun deer hunts"
Yes to the second question and to the third I think even if you put up a neon sign they'd still come in on you. Met some of the least ethical public land deer hunters in life on B side Black Warrior without a doubt.

If you hunt that area with the green fields be ready for about 45 bubbas to walk into it after daylight, no mater if you have a note up or not. Honestly there's probably already someone camped out there right now and I'm not even joking. This early gun hunt is one of the most crowded public land hunts I've ever seen. I don't know why they wait till 0500 to hand out the permits, that gives you no time to get to your spot. Just plan on hunting the walk in because it usually takes a couple of hours to get to where the hunting is good.

Hey I went and looked and they're going to be handing out permits starting tomorrow at 430P at the check in station

If they are handing permits out they usually do it the afternoon of the day before the hunt. I'm just glad they specified that they aren't handing them out on the A side. Went a couple of times the last 2 years and they weren't handing them out. I hope everybody hunts the green fields, that is fine with me!

Updates on who all went this morning? How many thousands of people are out there? Quite a few, think I heard 3 shots total before I had to come into work. One of those was a hog kill the other 2 were in same area of each other.

This morning, I drove to both of the spots I had scouted all summer and 2 trucks sitting on one and 1 truck on the other. I was there by 430am but still too late 😡. Now I’m in some random spot on a ridge.

There were a pretty good bit of shots fired today. I didn't go to see what was checked in.
