This is the supervised hunter guidelines.
Exemptions to the Hunter Education Requirement The Alabama Wildlife Heritage Act of 2007 provides a mentor provision for hunter education. Hunting license buyers have the option to hunt under the "supervision required" status in lieu of passing the hunter education course. However, successful completion of an approved hunter education course is mandatory for all non-supervised hunting license buyers. Hunters under supervision must be under normal voice control, not to exceed 30 feet away from a properly licensed hunter 21 years of age or older. Under no circumstances shall the supervising person be the holder of a "supervision required" license.

My son is 17 and I want him to be able to hunt by himself. He lives in Texas with him mom so he has to buy an out of state license, yet all the hunters education online classes say you have to live in Alabama. How does he get his hunter education to hunt alone?
Thanks !
TGp Just so you know, he is required to have the Hunter's Ed course, which you've realized, but this is in no way tied to him being able to hunt by himself. It is required for him to hunt at all unless you do the supervised hunts, which I know nothing at all about. If the kid is licensed, there should be no need in supervised hunts... Yes, he has to have a license but he can do a supervised hunt without the Hunters Ed course. The trick in this will be getting a license without the course. Probably have to call Montgomery to get that done.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

A couple years ago I could not find my hunters Ed card and the system lookup wasn’t working. So I bought myself a supervised hunting only license lol. Found my card a little later and carried it with me in case I was ever checked.
