I missed a doe last year at 10 yards. She didn't dodge the second time from 20 though.  I usually don't miss, but it does happen to everyone.

Guilty... I miss with a bow and not embarrased to say. I enjoy rushing the shot on a deer for some reason. Get too excited I guess...

I usually don't miss, but it does happen to everyone. I never woulda thought you would miss. Makes me feel better. I miss at least 1 a year. I miss from getting too worked up. That is a good thing. If I ever get to where I dont start shaking and cant catch my breath when a 70# doe walks by I think I'll quit. Its a drug I tell you. Its addicting.

I haven't always made perfect shots, but I get more worked up over the first nanny of the season than any other deer all year long. Something about those does drives me nuts when I stick them. Bring it on!! I can't wait.

I missed the same dadgum doe 3 times. Then slung a couple arrows at the two fawns that were with her. Missed both of them as well. Worst day ever bowhunting (still better than any day in the office).
I missed her at 2 yards; straight down shot. I missed her again at about 12 yards; while she tried to figure out what that noise (from the first shot) was. Then, she stopped again at 25 yards (after getting a little spooked from the second shot). I missed again. She and the two little ones trotted over to the next hillside and bedded down within sight.
I slowly climbed down (it was raining pretty good which helped to conceal the noise/movement of my climbing down) and stalked to within 20 yards of one of the fawns. Slung my last arrow right over it's back.
The doe and other fawn stood up, but didn't run off. So, I belly crawled back to my stand and pulled the first arrow out of the ground, belly crawled back to within 20 yards of the other fawn and slung that dirty arrow right over her back.
I think they were still laughing at me as I left the woods arrowless.
I don't remember if I've bowhunted since. I may try it again this year. Before then, I usually killed at least one doe (often two) before gun season opened. And, had never had problems missing like that.

I missed several times before I shot my first. Since then I have missed a couple of times. The last time was 2 years ago. I shot the next deer to walk by. Twice I have skipped an arrow off the back of a deer and then gotten another shot at it and conected with the second shot.

I shoot arrows a lot like I used to hit baseballs. I go through hot and cold streaks. One year I killed 9 deer on 9 arrows to start the year and then missed my last 4 shots. I went into a slump and lost my confidence.

First two years I started hunting I missed 8 deer each year and killed nothing. Ha
I used to get so tore up I could barely stand up. Since then I killed almost all I had shot at till last year. I missed a few. :p

The only two straight up clean misses that I had in the last 12 or so years, both of them resulted from my cam or bottom limb hitting my climber because the only shot I had was practically straight down. I have had some less than ideal shot placements for various reasons but only those two clean misses over the past several years.

This season will be my 34th year in a tree with a bow. Missed about a dozen or so times mostly arrow deflections from something I didn't see and a few screw ups. Hit and lost about few as well. A couple I am sure died and a couple I think made it just fine.
