A 270 slinging some modern heavies with R26 is “close enough” you’ll never know the difference. And when your interest move on it’ll be a lot easier to move also. The .270 Win dreams about being a .280 Ackley. The .280 Ackley is hotter than the .270 WSM in most factory loads, and is far past the .270 Win. Don't get me wrong, the .270 Win is a fine cartridge.
