The answer is, no, according to 2 Corinthians 5:17. We are a new creation and will not make sin a pattern of life. our "spirit" is what becomes the new creation -- our flesh remains the crappy old thing that it was, with the crappy old thoughts & patterns towards sin it had ... it's by the renewing of our mind, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit through the Word of God (aka Bible), that begins to renew/change our mind, heart & patterns & guides us into a less sinful walk with the Lord ... Paul OFTEN spoke of the war with his flesh -- it's a DAILY war we wage ... i was a pastor for a while, and one of the hardest things for me was praying/ministering for people -- ALL THE WHILE knowing i wasn't perfect/was sinful ... but thankfully, there's the grace & mercy of the Lord -- he sees us in our spirit man, whole & pure & born again & sinless ... our born again spirit cannot sin, but our flesh can do a mighty fine job of it ... even after becoming this "true Christian" thing we're all inflamed about ...

Which brings up an interesting question. Can you become a Christian and remain unchanged after that? These real life people come to mind: Samaritan woman at the well (John 4:4-26). Woman caught in adultery (John 8:1-11). Zacchaeus the tax collector (Luke 19:1-10). Saul (who became Apostle Paul).
The answer is, no, according to 2 Corinthians 5:17. We are a new creation and will not make sin a pattern of life. Too many folks have a love affair with sin but keep on believing they are Christians without any intent on following Christ. This is not a game. This is serious stuff. Some of you guys need to read Matthew 7:21. What is this "sin" you speak of? Jesus said to just love him and your neighbor didnt he? Didnt that rule out all that sin talk? Do you believe that a person is saved if they do not repent of their former lifestyle of sin and just continue in sin? Jesus tells us in Luke 13:3 that we will perish without repentence. The entire book of Revelation is devoted to God's wrath. The American Christian church has fallen into a pattern of believing all we have to practice is love while still talking like the rest of the world, watching movies that the world does, wearing sensual clothing like the world. I'm not trying to be hard just for the sake of being hard. Again, Matthew 7:21. Paul said "shall we continue in sin that grace may abound, God forbid", so you might be on to something there. I believe sin is still sin and God hasnt changed his mind about any of it. I have noticed that when a human being starts trying to justify a particular sin the bible is very clear about, that person or someone close to that person generally enjoys and commits that sin on a regular basis, or in other words lives in that sin. Before anybody asks, I know im not perfect or without sin, I didnt write the bible but its still the truth, I dont have to be perfect to agree with the truth.

I have several friends who don’t go to Church cause they hear and see Christians judging or sinning. If your going to church for approval from other Christians your gonna be disappointed every corner you turn. I’m not perfect and I know others aren’t either. Each person has faults and battles they’re fighting. Keep your eyes and ears on the lord, not in the people in church. But Church is very important. So I encourage us all to attend Church. Keep the Lord in your focus, not the negative distractions.

Usually we will compare our best day to that other fellows worst day and beat our chests because we are so much better. Problem is im not the measuring stick, neither are you, Jesus is the measuring stick or "plumbline" and we will all be judged against and by him. Were all a bunch of turds compared to Jesus. None of us have much room to brag, "no not one".

Doctrine - Believe it because a theory was tried and with experience, experimentation, practice and feedback to original theory, it was developed.

As part of the body of Christ, we no longer belong to ourselves. We bring ourselves under discipline by our fellow brothers and sisters. If someone labels themselves as a Christian, we have every right to hold them accountable. No one questioned Paul when he accused the Laodicians of being lukewarm.

Its so easy to sin, after all, its our nature. But the scripture is so clear that we are to strive to be the best we can be and be witnesses for Christ. If you see one of your friends or a family member doing something that you know isn't right, it is OK to point it out, BUT do it in private.I will not be an enemy of God and I will always give praise to my Maker for all the blessings he pours out upon me and my family. The rocks will cry out folks, if we just sit and be silent...so please, lets not be of the world. Though we will face persecution from worldly people, we still have to practice the greatest gift of all, LOVE! Im so glad this thread has been turned around for good...because God is good! This lets me know that there are still plenty of good Christian people out there. God bless!

I’m not a true Christian, so my prayers must not work for me, or when I ask em for other people besides me. I don’t go to church every Sunday, and when I do, my Live in girlfriend goes as well. We sin 5-7 nights a week on average, plus i sin 20 more times a day i guess, and I bet the good lord frowns down on me when I try to help someone besides my self. And I guess you have to be “True Christian” to judge someone and say one person prayer means more than the other just cause they don’t miss church. Well now, would you look at that!!! 🤔🤷🏻♂️😁 Pic of live in girlfriend so we can judge 😉 There you go....judging again....  You look like the ripe size to have your ass kicked. All that smack you talk.

Good Lord. Just get over your “all about me” butt hurt and pray for the guy. It’s not like Jesus sends out a list of qualified participants. I have a close relationship with God and we have an understanding. Nobody’s business but mine and Him. Just get it done, mean it, and move on. A prayer request, no matter how awkward, is a cry for help. Somehow making it about yourself on a forum makes you look like a drama queen, and probably says more about you than you realize.

Man it’s cool that god spoke to some dudes a million years ago and he wrote all this stuff down and it’s been all passed down intact like 10 times through like 10 languages. Then this king named James did something something something that no one is real sure of and BANG - that’s the most authentic accurate version. For sure.
