I have no clue why Nix is starting. The gatewood kid seems like a much better fit for what gus tries to do, he is a better athlete which is what Marshall was. I hope they leave Nox in all year but think they would do better with the other qb

I don't really like the transfer portal, but in Gatewoods case he would be a fool not to go. You can't tell me that Nix didn't get the edge over him because of papa Nix In ole Gus's ear. U could be onto sumthing lol

Both teams looked like what they are last night: average at best. The sad part is both are in the TOP half of the SEC this year. SEC sux!
The problem a lot of people (myself included) have with Nix is what we have been sold by the media. Freshman phenom! Gonna be great! The hype is the problem. If nothing had been said about his ability then the expectations wouldn't have been there and people would be more patient. His future ASIDE FROM HIS TALENT doesn't look good to me. Next year AU loses most O and D lines. Gonna make it tough next year. Then at some point in his 4 years there will probably be a coaching change. A lot is going to happen out of his control that affects him.

Aubie should have won that game by 2 TD's despite gus....hell I coulda picked up that fumble and ran it in...The interception in the end zone absolutely crushed Aubie's momentum, between the mistakes and the atmosphere, mentally they kinda beat themselves...IMO No doubt gus play calling and lack of adjustments at the half didn't help anything but I still feel like Aubie is better than Fla. and wouldn't be surprised if they're still around the top 10.....this week....

I think any fan could have looked at the overall players/coaches on the auburn team and could have seen there were a lot of problems there, not just at qb. 3, maybe 4 loses and Gus will be back, they are going to owe him a LOT of money if they cut him loose now.

Sounds about right. They'll win one or two they shouldn't and lose one they shouldn't.

It's not really Nix. It's that horseshit offense Gus runs. Nix would thrive under the right coach.

Everyone references Gus' lack of qb development.I will agree that that he can't develop one.And his high-school offense lacks toughness and maturity.I'll have to agree on that too.But I think his main problem has always been recruiting and developing along the offensive line,and he doesn't have an answer for that.Production on offense will live and die with your offensive line,no matter your scheme,philosophy,or skill-player talent.Gus can't recruit talent at the offensive line positions,and has yet to have a offensive line coach that can develop what he has had...

Just frustrating, as usual.
Gus will be fired by December after going 1-3 against UF, LSU, UGA and UA. They'll beat one of them - miraculously - and then probably get pounded by a Big-10 team in the bowl game in Tampa or Orlando.
They SHOULD beat Arkansas by 60 points. If that happens, the "They've worked out all the BuGs!" chatter will resume among the sunshine-pumpers.
I doubt they beat Arkansas by 60. If they lost that game, it wouldn't surprise me a bit. Nothing does, anymore.
