I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

what happened to them? i watched a special not too long ago where they were HAMMERING some poor farmer that was trying to plant "his own" seed -- and boy, they used ALL SORTS of pressure/scare tactics to keep that dude from doing it

gotcha ... GOOD!! of course it was the purpose of the documentary to portray Monsanto as a bunch of bullies -- sounds like they are/were!

how would they prove you planted feeder corn and didnt buy RR seed corn? just curious because if anyone comes poking around and you tell them its none of their dam business are they going to track down financial records to prove you planted a plot with feed and not seed? You cant sue somebody without evidence.

easy -- show me the receipt from the co-op of what corn you bought ... if all you bought was deer corn, then how'd the planting corn get into your field? IJS

look -- don't shoot the messenger here ... i'm just sharing with all of you how "big companies" work/think/enforce ... i don't know the name of that documentary but i'm sure a quick Google search would suss it out -- the one on Monsanto "lording" over their seed ... i literally spit my drink ALL OVER my TV listening to some of the claims M was making against this poor farmer -- totally ludicrous!

i'm NOT siding w/these big companies either ... but i know a thing or two about how they "think" ... that poor lady in Northport; the SEC/Alabama licensing department was going to BURY her over some damn cookies frown

ok ... it is your bag to use to feed deer what's in the bag; it's not your corn to plant ... legally anyway ... hence the reason why Monsanto can lower the boom on you ... "licensed" product is just that -- in order to re-use it, you have be licensed to do it ... i'm not a lawyer, altho i play one on TV -- but i imagine some form of what i've just said is where the "gotcha" is ... i could be wrong about this, but being in product licensing/sales/marketing for as long as i've been, i'd imagine some form of this exists, even in the farming/ag world ...

SIMILAR TO: a sweet lil lady over here in Northport was making THE CUTEST Alabama logo'ed cupcakes & cookies & the Alabama athletics department would order TONS from her ... next thing you know, she got a letter about how much she owed the licensing department based on sales of her "illegally logo'ed", unlicensed product ... if she'd just made her cupcakes & cookies in her kitchen (not for sale) & her family/friends ate them, she'd still be in violation & could be pursued -- but no harm, no foul ...

products "owned" by big companies are tricky ... if i was bent on planting corn, i'd just buy the crap "allowed" for planting & be done with it ...

If it doesn't say it on the bag that this corn is for pouring on the ground or in a feeder for the explicit purpose of feeding deer, and any other use is against the terms and conditions agreed upon by this purchase, then I don't see whatinthecornbreadhell they can do about it. Plant it and hope for the best.

And by the way, all you fellow Clorox'ers that have discovered the game-changer known as the "Clorox Stump", quit posting about it before you ruin it for all of us!

^^this^^^ and you'd be amazed how petty they (monsanto) got to "protect" their revenue stream with all the expensive lab work involved to bring it to market!

the're not gonna go after someone planting feed in a deer field for zero profit. If he was planting hundreds or thousands of acres to resale its possible but they are not going to invest time and money because some redneck planted a couple bags of feed corn to feed his deer and who the hell is going to know anyway? does monsanto fly drones over hunting clubs and send in teams of genetic biologists under cover of dark to take samples of your foodplots in the hopes they can demand the extra $20 you shorted them on a bag or two of seed? yall sound ridiculous. plant the corn, shut up about it, and go on living.

I can tell you for a fact you can plant feed corn and it will be roundup ready. I can not say for a fact that the bag you get your corn out of will be. I have planted it, it was roundup ready, it did make corn. Cant say for sure it will always work but it did the one time I tried it and the deer ate every bit of it.

Yes. Deer corn is about $200 cheaper a 50 pound bag.

at times, with the Delta Wildlife program, we can get rr corn for $80-120 per bag on last-year’s stock and mixed varieties (monsanto). most planting corn has a treatment coating, too, that isn’t suited for feed corn.
