Yall just remember...... Conservation Officers are sworn to uphold the law. It is their job to enforce the law. All the ones I know take their job very seriously. That doesn't make this particular situation right but it is the law of the land unfortunately. Is it really the law of the land? Does the wording in the Alabama code really say that, or has Chuck and Co . conveniently modified the wording? I won't go 49er and start on laws V regs.

Have any of ya'll ever known of a hunter that got a ticket for using a spray attractant? They would have been illegal till this year I think. I think the possibility of a child getting a ticket is extremely low, and if a game warden did write on I think the judge would throw the game warden and the ticket out of court.

Seems to be safe in every situation it comes back to having the bait permIt. To me the easiest thing to do to avoid all the what if’s is add the cost of the bait permit into the cost of the regular license and make the license all inclusive.

So I was reading in the license purchase section. My son is 6. So do I buy him a license to hunt under supervision, and then tack on the bait priv stamp or whatever its called? Just trying to get a good understanding on all of this.

Just trying to get a good understanding on all of this. No license but has to have the bait thingy. Chuckie says there is no excuse for a 6 yo to not be working after school and weekends so they can send the money to the DCNR. They need to pay their own way. Bunch of entitlement program freeloading 6 yo's.

Leo's are sworn to uphold the law. Dont break the law & you wont get a ticket. I do think it's crazy that kids & seniors have to pay for this privilege.

You're saying everyone that gets a ticket is guilty?? If you believe that, 100% no bad tickets written, you sir, do not need to be in the woods with a gun unsupervised!

there is such a thing called common sense, also discretion. One does NOT have to write a ticket for EVERY violation one sees, oath or not. Arresting, thru the juvenile process, a ten year old for not having a "bait permit" is a crock of chitt and any officer that would do that needs firing. And ANYONE saying a seven year old needs to "pay his way" needs a realignment.
I've spent most of the money I've made in my lifetime on hunting and fishing. The rest I just wasted.....

I disagree Central, he needs to be in the woods. He needs to take a little kid hunting as a none hunting observer , shoot a buck , of course little feller will want to help drag the buck. Then when sworn to uphold the law GW comes along and writes the "little hunter" a ticket for "assisting " I bet he changes his tune.

My understanding is the legislature, not Game/Fish, wrote the bill. Also, if the youngster does not have a gun with him, and dad does...., No violation.

The way I read the release, it said this is what most of the legislator's constituents have wanted, and therefore the legislature voted to pass. So now F&G will support and enforce the law.

I believe DCNR is teasing out details like the need to issue tickets to the elderly or children under 16 because they are run by a horses ass, not because of the way the bill is written. That's some Pontius Pilate stuff right there.

Rest assured, the bill was written and passed with full support of Chuckie and company. That arrogant, money hungry goobersmoocher would pimp his own mother for a dollar.
I hate making a good first impression. There’s no way I can keep that shit up.
