If you had one week free of charge, to hunt whitetails, where would you spend that week???
For me I would spend that week in the Pike County Illinois area...

Have you hunted Pike before? I am going up in November. Never been there before. I have hunted southeast Illinois and it was awesome.

Northeast Iowa then head down to Pike Co Illinois. I was lucky enough to hunt both in same year. Bow in Pike Co in Nov, shotgun in Iowa in Dec then hunted with muzzleloader in S Illinois on the way home. Good/bad results, missed 130" with bow, missed 140" with shotgun and killed 125" with muzzleloader. I suck!!!

BOHNTR, I have never hunted in Pike Co., but I have hunted Southern Illinois, and I love it there, hoping to get up to Pike Co. in a few years.

They don't grow the biggest deer but I have always wanted to hunt Montana. It sure looks pretty from behind the tv.

SE Iowa for me.
I have permission to hunt a 400 acre farm up there, but have missed the draw dates the last two years. Hopefully I can get in next year...

Flew into their airport 4 years ago on business and they had a statue of 2 or 3? bucks at the baggage carosel. They were lifesize and HUGE! But Illinois was cool too. Really any of the places listed. I get a kick out of hunting new areas you've never been....scouting yourself and determining where to go on your own. That's the challenge that's fun for me. But some folks want to be told where to go sit.

to many non locals in IL these days (not to say the hunting isn't still good cause it is) but If I got to choose my place it would be IA, KS, IN or OH (IA and KS top the list). somewhere that is hard for nonlocals to get a tag for. Less hunters= more mature bucks

Alberta Canada...a bow hunters paradise. The deer look like yearling cows, 300 lbs +, cool, crisp, clean air and low hunting pressure lands are plentiful.

Milk River in Montana. I have a friend who owns 8000 acres there. I killed a 162 there in 2001, He stays so busy and booked up I haven.t been back. Maybe 2010

I've got a lease in Mercer Co. IL. 100+ acres for just me and one other guy. Ground is 2.5 hrs from house and about 5 min from the Miss. River. First year hunting it. With any luck, I'll be posting pics of a P&Y buck in 12 weeks.
