Ribeye steaks, heirloom potatoes, home grown field greens with strawberries and blue cheese...



Organic, grass fed beef burgers served on brioche buns, buttered and toasted on the grill with my favorite... Extra crispy Tater Tots and our own homemade old fashioned fermented pickles...





Finally tonight, baked pasta with grilled chicken, bow tie pasta and cheese baked and served with a field green salad and toasted French bread...

Lookin' good. BTW, Boykin Tractor in Rainsville has a used, compact Kubota with belly mower and loader . Looked to be bout 25-30 HP and hydrostat .

How much are they askin?

I'm hornin' in on a Mahindra eMax 22 with a loader and belly mower over in Piedmont for 10k.

Don't know, just saw it on the lot Friday afternoon, didn't look it over or ask any questions. Good looking machine , thought it might be something you could use.

Damn... I'm heading out of town and back down to Mobile today for work then to Savannah for work for a few days with Mrs. Irish for a work/fun trip. I won't be able to go look at either tractor until next week sometime.

Another great weekend at Camp Little Ridge. I wasn't going to go up there until Friday afternoon, but Mrs. Irish called me about 1900 Thursday night and informed me that she had forgotten her keys to the cabin and she had her Mom with her and was already up past Gadsden, so I had to grab my stuff and head on up there. Thursday night is was actually quite chilly for this time of year we got down in the mid to low 50's on Thursday night.

I had a lift rented for the weekend so I got a couple of high elevation project knocked out that I have been needing to do for some time. I helped a buddy top out and cut down a tree at his cabin on Friday and then transplated one of my Leyland Cypress trees to a better location.




Saturday I installed some re-purposed gutters.I installed them once and just to check how they flowed (1/2" per 10'-0") I rode the lift back up and sprayed the roof down with the hose pipe. It's a frost free hose bib out in the yard with full pressure so it flows some water and guess what... Most of the water coming off the roof flowed right over the top of the gutters. So I had to raise the entire gutter up 1" and now it works great.





I took Mrs. Irish up for a ride in the lift as high as it would go to see the view from up there. She's smiling in the picture, but she was skeered. She doesn't like heights.



Shhhh.... Early morning coffee... The sun is getting a little farther south with each sunrise.



Sunday it was designing and fabricating some chimney supports and finally getting the chimney done...







Time for a well deserved cigar, Guatemalan beer and a shot of 100% agave Tequila.



Monday I buttoned up everything on the inside and we are ready for a fire when the weather cools off.

An update on the propane situation at the cabin...

As you know I decided, much to the laughter of some folks, to attempt to run our full size gas range on 20# propane tanks, using a RV style switchable manifold. Well this arrangement has worked out very well. We have been up at the cabin cooking almost 3 days a week on average including Mrs. Irish making extra soups, stews and meals to package and can for her Mom to eat during the week and for us to have extra for lunches. So a lot of cooking going on at the cabin. We installed the stove and the gas in late March and just a couple of weeks ago finally used our 1st bottle of propane and had to switch over to a new one. That was a lot of cooking for $14.92 a refill at the Walmart in Ft. Payne.

I took that empty bottle and 2 other spares I had at the house and had those refilled, so now I always have full extra bottles.

Good deal on the tank working for the stove.

Sounds like everything is coming together nicely at the end
