Were Full. Most clubs in good locations with reasonable club dues dont have a problem. I can see where high dollar trophy clubs can have a problem filling memberships especially if the have a long list of club rules. We just stick to the basics and follow state law. Works out pretty good.

Only three of us so we stay full. The way to solve the guns per membership problem is to just allow 3 bucks per membership. It solves the problem of people bringing a lot of guest also.

To me a club is no different or better than public land. It's basically first come first served for spots and you never know where you will end up hunting until you make it to the land. When I can stay long enough for a 4+ hour drive to be worth it I hunt family land. When I want to hunt close to home, I have always hunted public land and tend to enjoy it. It's a challenge and I never have to worry about anyone's opinion of how I hunted or what I decided to shoot or not shoot. Most clubs these days have a rule book bigger than the WMA regs. And it is the unwritten rules you have to worry about more in a club.

We just like to have fun. We don’t have any rules except shoot mature bucks, and as many does as you want. It’s family land and it’s me and 2 of my best friends, and 2 of my dad’s best friends. Nobody expects to kill giants so I guess that helps. Everyone is happy when someone else kills a deer. Also helps that we own the land so there’s no pressure to fill memberships.

What it's about 👍 Owning the Land is awesome! I personally know of 2 long standing clubs that will soon be gone (one sold other is still for sale) my buddy's property sold last week (been in the club for 40 years) and the first thing he told me was We've had some fun!

For myself,I prefer private land. I have
hunted private land ever since I started
deer hunting until the last couple years.
BUT sooner or later luck runs out. Deer
and turkey has become a money game.
I used to be able to hunt 2 mile stretch of land
that all joined, until when One of the owners who
Was in his 80,s passed away. The land went to the
Kids , none of them hunted so they sold the property.
The guy that bought leased it out to some guys out of
State. That Changed the whole thing the other owners
All leased out there land also. Now I have 250 acres left
There that once was near 4000 acres with all the land that
Joined it. I have2 other very small private propertys I hunt.
I have joined a club in Rockford for this season I paid 1000.00
To join. I love deer hunting and as long as I have the chance to
Hunt, I'm all in.

I have found that most public land I hunt actually has less pressure than many hunting clubs where all the good spots are signed out every weekend and hammered. AND a lot less drama.
