Hunting is different to each of use. I've never hunted mountains and would be lost.Hunting the woods or ag land is different too.
While I don't like X-bows being considered bows,I don't make and can't change the laws.There is so much we can share if we try,not go after each other like a bunch of pitbulls. My downfall is politics. Thats another story.
I have alot of respect for many a hunter on this site,(NOT OUTBACK LOL)This bickering over trvial crap is childish. Antler envy is childish. Troy,2dogs,Matt and a world of others have alot of knowledge. Running them off will benefit no one.
If the good hunters leave you'll be asking furflyin or bdhunts for advise. Then you will be lost ! LOL

hey pissant, tell me the last buck I killed that I posted on here......
I didn't kill A buck in 08-09, 09-10, 10-11, seasons so I'm pretty damn sure I didn't post any kill pics. I killed two this season but , again, no pics posted. Whats yer f'in beef????? Pics I've posted have been 90% of deer others killed
and whats with the thinly veiled "high fence" shucks??? Show me where I hunt in a high fence of any kind. No deer for three years don't seem too much like a "high fence hunter" to me. Two this year we definitly not high fence.

I enjoy aldeer, and have made many "forum friends". If I can share what little I know and it helps someone grow and/or kill a big buck, I'm glad to help. I've also picked up a lot of great info on here myself, and am thankful for it. There's a bunch of sharp hunters on here. Aldeer is another way to make hunting fun.
Myself ,truedouble and a couple others were having a discussion and bill chimed in and basically said some of us were wrong and kept pressing the issue. Seems like many on here are interested in "your credentials" so I gave bill mine on the subject in a manner he didn't like I guess. Now I'm a jealous,braggart with a case of "antler envy". Easiest job in the world is to be a critic.

hey Perch, my skin is too thick to be run off by a wannabe. No probs here, heck it ain't even real life!  Matt is one of the nicest guys I know, knowledgeable, and a real hard hunter. He caught some crap from the wannabes here for posting pics of buck kills and I doubt he will make that mistake again. 2dogs, and others, know their chit when it comes to killing bucks and add to the discussions. I haven't seen bill add one damn thing to any discussion...... Oh, back to the thread. I learned that you won't even want to hunt when ya have the shingles in Jan.....bad juju boys. troy

LOL There are plenty of guys here who are knowledgeable and who've killed a pile of good deer they just aren't constantly trying to show others up. This isn't about me. I've never discussed my trophies with either of them. I even acknowledged they are both very good hunters as evidenced by their success. Their egos just won't leave others any room to compliment them on it.

I've noticed it's hard to have hardcore discussions sometimes without someone jumping in and telling you don't know what you're talking about. BSK, is as knowledgable about whitetails and habitat management as anyone that has ever posted on the forum. Perfect? No, but neither is anyone else. Worked with Grant Woods for several years before starting his own habitat consulting business out of Nashville. He also did a great job of being professional and staid out of the name calling even though several on here did their best to drag him down to their level. If you are interested in what he has to say you can go to Tndeer. He posts on there a good bit. You can probably guess who ran him off.  sorry to get off subject. Started out as a pretty good topic but as always got derailed...

Sounds like a nice place. Dr.Woods is the only guy out there that is showing what can be done in an area simular to the Cumberland Mts. (North Alabama). Everything else you gonna see is Mid-west, deep South or Texas. If I had a chance to learn from someone who studied under Dr.Woods, I'd damn sure listen!

I respect many of the guys on here that post logical posts and consistently back up what they say in the woods.
EVEN WHEN I DON"T AGREE WITH WHAT THEY ARE SAYING AT THE TIME!!!
I do not envy the 1st hunter on here for anything. That jealousy amongst hunters is the root of all evil.

I learned this year that when you are confronted by LEO's and GWs that don't know what is happening, you need friends that can tell you the law and in a hurry. I was told not to access property that I own, and I would be ticketed if I did. The charge would be trespassing!!!! One call to Troy and his advice saved me alot of time and energy.
I also learned that there is safety in numbers-that lone wolves are easy prey. When the GW has a crowd on his side, he talks alot of crap that shows what he really don't know. I owe a debt of gratitude to Troy fpr the information he gave me and that was my most valuable lesson learned.
