A lot of people still consider Mahindra an off brand tractor. Therere are dealers around here, but a lot of them have come and gone over the years. I personally don’t think Mahindra is going anywhere and parts and service will be available, but it seems like dealers have a hard time getting established.
The closest place that sold Mahindra here, no longer sells them, and has since sold Koti (sp?)., Branson, and now Yanmar. The place on the left hand side of 231 if you’re headed south toward Brundidge? I noticed a while back they were no longer selling mahindras and wondered why.

I looked at at Branson 2400 HST yesterday. It's a nice tractor made in South Korea and assembled in Rome, Ga. They had a demo model with 5 hours on it and a 2 year warranty. you can get an nice excavator for it, but this deal came with a front end loader and a rear finish mower. $13,500 delivered to the cabin.
They had a package deal on new ones with a front end loader, bush hog, box blade and tandem axle trailer for $15,995.
They have a dealership in Rome and in Leesburg.
I called the Mahindra dealer in Centre and in order to get pricing anywhere near that I had to drop down to a 19hp tractor and it was still $14,900 for the FEL and finish mower. They wanted 5.9% financing. Oh and by the way, everyone talking about the Mahindra 7 year warranty... That's only a power train warranty. The reat of the machine is only 2 years. Kubota or Deere. 0 percent for 7 years and won't ever (ever) have to worry about parts. The parts thing can't be overemphasized. If you go look on a few of the tractor forums it's shocking how long it can take to get basic parts for some tractors. I just read the other day some feller on tractorbynet, it took him 7 months to get a new part from Case/NH. 7 months. Don't get caught in that position and get green or orange.

Sansom tractor. Good folks. When Massey's left them, he's had a few different brands since then. I've bought a disc and a trailer from them years ago. Went to school with some of them. Deer is solid down there and I hope Capitol tractor can hang on. My only complaint with them is they're not open on Saturday, even the Montgomery location.

Ive got a small massey ferguson 22hp. Its probably the way to go if money is an issue. I like the sub compacts for small jobs. they are easy to get on and off and can work in tight areas and woods. you do have to wiegh them down pretty good and have good ag tires to take advantage of the hp. I run a 5ft box blade on mine for 90% of what I use it for.

I agree with hydrostatic transmission for a small tractor, especially in tight quarters. For bigger tractors (50+ hp), most folks prefer gear transmission.

I agree with hydrostatic transmission for a small tractor, especially in tight quarters. For bigger tractors (50+ hp), most folks prefer gear transmission. Bush hoggin large fields with a hydrostatic sucks. Holding that peddle down for hours is a sumbitch.

I can see that...lots of backing going forward n small places...every situation is different..and for something under 25hp I prob would want it but nothing bigger I couldn't have it for our use now

I looked at at Branson 2400 HST yesterday. It's a nice tractor made in South Korea and assembled in Rome, Ga. They had a demo model with 5 hours on it and a 2 year warranty. you can get an nice excavator for it, but this deal came with a front end loader and a rear finish mower. $13,500 delivered to the cabin.
They had a package deal on new ones with a front end loader, bush hog, box blade and tandem axle trailer for $15,995.
They have a dealership in Rome and in Leesburg.
I called the Mahindra dealer in Centre and in order to get pricing anywhere near that I had to drop down to a 19hp tractor and it was still $14,900 for the FEL and finish mower. They wanted 5.9% financing. Oh and by the way, everyone talking about the Mahindra 7 year warranty... That's only a power train warranty. The reat of the machine is only 2 years. Never owned a tractor so my opinion isn't worth anything but 5.9% isn't very attractive at all.

There is a chance of" Slim and None. That I'm financing anything. I'm looking at a Mahindra like I want for $10k. I'll try to offer them $9k and walk away. It's a dealer, so they have some fluff in there.

Anyone who says they don't want hydrostatic drive on a tractor tells me they have never spent an hour on a hydrostatic drive tractor.. Or 30 minutes. or even 15. I can easily move my hydro Kubota 1/4 ". There is no human on the planet who can do that on a gear tractor.
If you are row crop farming, ignore the rest of my post.
If you ain't row crop farming, a gear tractor does nothing to help you, and a hydrostat makes everything easier.
