I have learned that people who hunt over green patch bait are highly skilled woodsmen that make Daniel Boone look like a city slicker. And furthermore they are saintly souls that upon their deaths are met at the pearly gates by all the saints in heaven who then carry them through the streets of heaven yelling, "A GREEN PATCH HUNTER, A GREEN PATCH HUNTER." "ALL OF HEAVEN IS BLESSED BY HIS PRESENCE."
Conversely I have learned that anybody that perceives a green patch to be no different than baiting with corn is not only completely oblivious of any woodland lore and knowledge but is also a foul and evil ghoul that crawls on all fours and only comes out at night to creep through open windows in order to suck blood out of babies necks as they lay in their cribs.
No one can explain why this is true however. They just know it is. I agree.... green patch hunters ain't any different than you corn hunters

I have learned that many/most/almost all the people who voice their opinions about the reason we should be allowed to bait deer, think that ALL the people who voice the opposite opinion park close to shooting houses and only hunt in green fields.
I plant green fields, but don't hunt in them.

Learned not this year but several years ago... If you are out there POST SEASON SCOUTING right now, what you learn will be invaluable... but don't expect the critters to do the same DURING THE RUT the following season. They might, then again they might not. You have to be as adaptable as they are.

Signed, Unethical Hypocrite Due to your PM..... I feel certain this is directed at me! No problem. But, if you don't fit the mold of the type of person that I am describing, then it should not bother you! BUT, I would wager a pretty good bet that the VAST MAJORITY of hunters in AL spend a considerable portion of their deer hunting time watching a food plot....myself included! I like to watch deer!!!! But, they are there to eat in an artificial setting, i.e. a cleared opening in the woods that is specially prepared for just that purpose. To draw them in for viewing/harvesting. I totally agree that there is a lot of benefit from a well-prepared food plot; just like the benefits of supplemental feed. BUT, it is BAIT in it's purest form, nonetheless.

Hogwild, it was more just a poke at you and Todd. More of a yank the chain and see what happens. LOL It's all good bud, just killing time....
I think we agree more than we disagree about the topic, even though I am against baiting and you are for it. If both or either we done for the deers benefit, not the hunters it wouldn't matter which one was done...

@Bill - quit trying to steal a thread!!! leave bill alone M, it has every right to look like a jealous lil girl...... Yeah, thats it, LOL. I'm pretty sure Matt Brock has had as much or more yearly success as anyone on this site and I doubt anyone thinks he is a braggart or jealous of others. You used to have that market cornered but now you have competition. so if Matt has posted pics of deer he's killed and I haven't, I'm a braggert and Matt is not.(and he prolly won't show anymore bucks because of asshats like you) Or someone posts their "man cave" with a few heads in it , it's ok. But if I show my trophy room it's bragging. if you don't like my posts then don't look at them, but I would like you to post a pic of the last buck I've killed that I posted on here.....

I just damned sure don't understand. What causes some of you guys to attack someone that is sharing ? Lord knows everyone here loves pics of big deer. Some of you guys are working at running the knowledgeable guys off. BSK won't post here anymore because of unwarranted attacks. Pretty soon there won't be anyone posting here but blow hards.Jealous blowhards at that .

Nope. Posting pics of deer we kill is all part of what this place is about but posting your pics in someone else's kill thread and making sure everyone knows you killed yours with a long bow is pettiness to the nth degree. Your free to post whatever you like and I'm free to comment on it. Matt, may choose not to post any of his deer on here but it isn't because of me. As a matter of fact I've got several pm's from him in the past with pics of deer he has killed but never posted here. Matt's a humble guy who has killed many great FREE RANGE deer and isn't trying to one up anybody. Since he isn't always blowing his own horn he leaves room for others to compliment him.

Perch, Brian left here because he couldn't post anything qdm related without someone calling him every name in the book including liar. He is as knowledgeable as they come but wasn't arrogant even though he gets paid for his opinions.

Sure did. Heck of a nice guy too. I once asked him why he didn't graduate from killing every 3.5 year old buck he saw and he said because 3.5 year olds are hard to kill and its fun! Definitely a qdm guy most could relate to if they would have given him a chance.

I miss Brian, too. But back to topic--I learned for the 52nd year, you can't kill a big'un unless he's there.

Hey perch, who ran this BSK guy off? Guess it happened before I became a member. I'm all about some QDM. I'd have loved to had some discussions with him, Too bad. I've noticed it's hard to have hardcore discussions sometimes without someone jumping in and telling you don't know what you're talking about.

Why the need to attack or belittle valid hunters on this site. While I don't really hunt my plots I do sit and watch them. Alot is learned by watching deer interact with each other. This never happens if you are blasting them.I had the ability to watch my plots without the intent to kill since bucks are pretty much nocturnal where I hunted till the rut. I bowkill in the woods for my does then sit and watch'em in the afternoons. Belittling each other and being jealous is futile. the only way you'll ever kill a big buck is luck and using knowledge you have at your disposal.By running experienced knowledgeable hunters off this board you are killing your chances to learn.

I think Bucksville Fatboy claims that honor. He didn't agree with much Brian had to say. Have you vidsited the forums at QDM's site. Those boys live and breath it there. Since I don't have a lease anymore I don't visit often. www.qdma.com

Why the need to attack or belittle valid hunters on this site? The two that are getting the business for that from bill haven't posted anything that I have read that wasn't meant to be helpful. The only picture I've seen Troy post was of a doe that he killed, with a point he knapped, attached to an arrow shaft he made, shot from a bow he made. He didn't do any bragging about it. I likely would have. He's posted a couple pictures of his trophy room. No bragging associated with the pics. I'm sure he's proud of the trophies as I would be. 2Dogs posted pictures of 2 nice bucks he killed, but I don't remember any bragging there either. Both guys seem to be down to earth, and share their knowledge freely. Those are the kind of members that I like to see here. Trying to help, not tear down.

Furflyin, bhamfred has not posted kill pics this year. What he does is post previous kills in other peoples threads with the pretense that he is just showing them what a certain score deer looks like. That wouldn't be the worst of it until he makes sure to tell you his was killed with a long bow. 2 dogs came on here making comments like " I know how to grow big bucks and I know how to kill em all while insinuating that unless you hunt in the mountains you aren't really hunting and don't know what hard hunting is. He then proceeds to take veiled shots at another's 170 and tried to stir up sentiment against him by implying he hadn't killed it where or how he said he did. I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've got a pm box full about it but I'm the only one who will speak up. Fur, your taking what I posted out of context without knowing all the information. I've said what I had to say and I'm done.
