I've learned that the rut ends in North AL in mid Jan, but those that hunt there beyotch more about SW AL hunters getting the same opportunity. Sorry, I guess we just need to kill more does, hunt up there, learn how to hunt, where to hunt, etc. Just going by memory from what I have read here over the last few months.

I learned that Jackson county sucks if you are used to hunting flat land. I am almost positive this will be reaffirmed starting 3/15/12.

When you're backing out from the cabin, and it's 20 degrees and dark and you're sleepy and tired........that big pine tree doesn't care.

Hmmm, I also learned that the people who tell others not to post pictures of any big deer they kill have posted dozens of their own deer. As a matter of fact they never miss an opportunity to post their own pics in other people's kill threads. smile

There's flat land in Jackson Co. Hunting fields/plots that join North Sauty Refuge (a big swamp) and waiting on a deer that sees no pressure to come onto ajoining private property is the easiest hunting I've ever done. I guess you were up in the moutains where the going gets tough. wink

I learned that I don't know anything about hunting big bucks. Just hope that some day I get lucky again.

For a fellow that doesn't make veiled comments or insinuating comments you're confusing me. I noticed you been trolling, Bfred ain't bitin', neither am I. Hey, I thought we had a deal!

Thats not veiled its sarcasm. I know full well you and bham Fred are very good deer hunters and that is a true statement. And even if we didn't know it you two spend so much time advertising it we would soon learn.

I have learned that people who hunt over green patch bait are highly skilled woodsmen that make Daniel Boone look like a city slicker. And furthermore they are saintly souls that upon their deaths are met at the pearly gates by all the saints in heaven who then carry them through the streets of heaven yelling, "A GREEN PATCH HUNTER, A GREEN PATCH HUNTER." "ALL OF HEAVEN IS BLESSED BY HIS PRESENCE."

Conversely I have learned that anybody that perceives a green patch to be no different than baiting with corn is not only completely oblivious of any woodland lore and knowledge but is also a foul and evil ghoul that crawls on all fours and only comes out at night to creep through open windows in order to suck blood out of babies necks as they lay in their cribs.

No one can explain why this is true however. They just know it is.

I learned that when the biggest and oldest buck on the place walks out 20 yards directly behind the truck you are sitting in, there is nothing you can do but watch him in the rear view mirror and tell the guy sitting next to you to shut the hell up and be still.

Yeah, thats it, LOL. I'm pretty sure Matt Brock has had as much or more yearly success as anyone on this site and I doubt anyone thinks he is a braggart or jealous of others.

You used to have that market cornered but now you have competition.
